He sent photos of her to newspapers and magazines, sent his wife's portfolio to film studios and made the most of his own connections to promote Gina. The film star herself admitted that without the help of Milko Skofich, the "national Gina" could not have taken place. But she emphasized at the same time: she achieved everything in her life herself.

Already in 1950, Howard Hughes, a famous producer, saw her photographs, and invited the beauty to Hollywood. He did not even hide the fact that he completely lost his head from the Italian actress. She agreed to the offer only on condition of a trip with her husband.

However, the producer sent only one ticket, and Gina categorically refused to fly alone. Her husband persuaded her, considering it impossible to miss such a chance. Gina went to Hollywood, where she spent two months, but did not respond to the producer's courtship, although she found him a very interesting man.

After two and a half months, she returned to Italy. When she starred in the film "Fanfan Tulip", in "The Most Beautiful Woman" and in "Notre Dame", all Italian newspapers began to write about her, calling her a real star, Gina noted: her fame did not come suddenly, she was preceded by seven years of hard work.

According to the actress, it was not at all a passing hobby. Their romance was so serious that the lovers even planned to register their relationship. The initiator of the wedding was Konchalovsky himself. But then he got carried away with filming his next masterpiece and immediately forgot about the affair with the Italian actress, as well as about his promise to marry her.

Some resentment and anger made Gina Lollobrigida pay attention to her younger brother, Nikita Mikhalkov.
