Everyone is used to the idea that an ant is a tiny, defenseless creature. Cartoonists draw cute faces for them, which are in perfect harmony with the insect's promoted industriousness. But what does an ant really look like? And the wasp? The FEI Company knows the answer to this question. A company that deals not only with the study of insects, but also specializes in creating unique macro photos.
A hair louse, a tick, a sea worm, an ant and even a chicken embryo were targeted by the cameras of the scientific company. Moreover, the finished shots turned out to be so unexpected that many people perceived them as shots from another horror movie, the heroes of the photo shoot looked so frightening. Even the cute ant actually turned out to be an incredibly hairy creature with a huge mustache.
However, the reaction of eyewitnesses to the photo not only did not stop the organizers from further work on the collection, but also increased their enthusiasm. Scientists are confident that people should know the appearance of insects, and not come up with images for them on their own. Moreover, after participating in macro photography, insects do not become more ferocious. Photographer Jimmy Kong is of the same opinion. His macro shots of spiders have already found their fans. And the author of the photo continues to work on a documentary review of the insect world.
