Weaving lace napkins and bobbin tablecloths is a primordially female occupation. And mainly grandmothers and housewives are fond of it, who have nothing to entertain themselves with except for needlework. However, the French artist Pierre Fouche he will not agree with such stereotypical statements, since he has long been engaged in weaving lace pictures, in particular, portraits. The last work on which the artist worked for the last four years was a portrait of the Israeli architect Guy Nardi. Seeing this masterpiece, more than one bobbin lacemaker will admire the author's skill and perseverance!
It is hard to imagine what superhuman perseverance and angelic patience one should have in order to create such high-quality, detailed, stunningly clear portraits from polyester thread on bobbins! In addition to a painting depicting an Israeli architect, the artist also creates other subject paintings, still giving preference to images of people.
These and other lace paintings will be part of a personal exhibition that Pierre Fouchet will soon be ready to present to the public at the Whatiftheworld Gallery.
