When two talented people love each other, it's already good. And if they also combine their talents into one whole, and amazing masterpieces of incredible beauty and style are born, it is doubly great. Needless to say, one head is good, but two are better - and the photographer's creative tandem does not doubt this for a moment. Marco Guerra and artists Yasmina Alaoui … Together they created the art project "Thousand and One Dreams" (" One thousand and one dream"), excerpts from which we will show you. It is curious how two such different and at the same time identical people could find each other. Marco Guerra is an Italian from Chile, in love with photography, Yasmina Alaoui is a Moroccan from France who Since childhood, she skillfully draws with pencil and ink, and they both met in New York, where they moved to live and work. Combining their abilities, as well as the culture of the East and West, the authors conquered the world with original works in which the beauty of the naked body is combined with the finest Arabic patterns. and thus the human body becomes a canvas for the artist and an object of admiration for the viewer.
The work of the talented couple is structured in this way: first, Marco Guerra takes photographs of nude models, and then his wife turns these photographs into paintings covered with the thinnest veil of oriental ornament, where elements of "hot" Islamic culture are traced, enriching the "cold" culture of the West. Having become one family, the artist and photographer strive to unite their cultural heritage, but in order to enrich each other, and not at all overshadow and in no way oust their partner.
Touching and subtle, and at the same time mysterious and gloomy, the paintings of the creative couple were released in an edition of 5 copies each and costing about 30 thousand dollars.
