If you want your walk to be at an altitude, go … to Switzerland! Not so long ago, in the popular ski resort of Engelberg, the highest in the world was opened Titlis Cliff Walk suspension bridgelocated at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level. It got its name in honor of Mount Titlis, on which, back in 1913, one of the world's first chairlifts was opened.
The height of the bridge is really fantastic - 300 meters above the glacier. For comparison, most of the bridges that European ski resorts are proud of barely reach the 100-meter mark. To get to the Titlis Cliff Walk, travelers first go through an underground tunnel. Of course, the bridge "captivates" with a panorama that opens onto the nearby snow-capped mountains. Travelers can easily look over the mountain ranges, as well as practically look into the abyss. By the way, if there are not enough extreme emotions on the Swiss bridge, you can test your courage on the dizzying glass bridge on Tianmen Mountain in China, which we also wrote about on our website Culturology.ru.
It took four months to build this suspension bridge, with a total cost of 1.5 million Swiss francs ($ 1.6 million). The structure of the bridge is particularly robust: Titlis Cliff Walk can withstand up to 500 visitors at the same time, as well as strong gusts of wind (at this height they can reach 200 meters per second). By the way, the chairlift, built a hundred years ago in the Engelberg ski resort, still serves tourists today, not inferior in beauty to another Swiss ultra-modern two-story cable car Cabrio.

Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver
Some people are stopped by obstacles, some, on the contrary, are stimulated to action. It was the second category of people who first kindled a fire, invented a dwelling made of stones, and built a bridge. The last of the listed creations of human hands will be discussed in our today's article. Namely - about the Capilano suspension bridge, which is located at an altitude of 70 meters above sea level. Its length is 140 meters, which is truly incredible, especially considering the fact that the bridge was built in 1889

The tallest sand castle in the world: sculpture-record holder Ed Gerrett
Sand castles are too short-lived, and building them is the same as building air ones? Sculptor Ed Gerrett disagrees. From year to year, he sets new altitude records and creates real masterpieces of beach architecture - though not from the beach, but from the so-called coarse-grained sand, which sticks together much better. The last project of the master - a beautiful 11.5-meter sand castle with man-made dragons, lions and chains
