There is never a lot of money. But if, nevertheless, you have collected a sufficient amount of little things in your piggy bank, which you are reluctant to spend, and you no longer have the strength to keep in the piggy bank, you can follow the example of the American designer Johnny Swing, who made a whole sofa from several thousand nickel coins, which, if desired, can be used as "real" furniture. However, after the couch made of coins, from the Brooklyn workshop of this author, a "coin" armchair, sofa, chair appeared … In general, the collection of little things turned into a collection of furniture called Obsessive Furniture.
To make one chair, the master needed to make about 7 thousand rations and more than 500 coins of 50 cents each. In total, this will turn out to be $ 750, while the finished product costs almost $ 30 thousand. By the way, the weight of such a chair is 26 kilograms, and the coins are not only fastened together, but also soldered to the mesh-frame in order to properly keep the shape - and the seated person.
From 7 thousand of the same 50 cents, a "coin" couch was made, the very first creation of the designer. True, the cost of this art object - otherwise this furniture cannot be named - is not mentioned anywhere. But on the Johnny Swing website, you can properly consider both these sculptural objects and the addition of the Obsessive Furniture collection, because the author did not stop there - he still has a lot of small coins.
