A cow on ice and an elephant in a china shop would hardly have looked more ridiculous than adult man in a pink tutu! However, New York photographer Bob Carey took a series of self-portraits both as a joke and seriously at the same time! What began as a ridiculous photo shoot back in 2003 has now become part of a charity project in support of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer …
Bob is a real hero of his time, selfless and sincerely loving his wife! The story of his life is quite worthy, if not admiration, then deep respect. Nine years ago, his wife Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer, treatment brought only temporary relief, and the disease came back again. Linda was forced to undergo chemotherapy, and Bob decided to prove to her that laughter is the best medicine!
A funny photo session in a pink tutu sincerely amused a seriously ill woman, and Bob decided to continue to give her smiles. The freak posed on the beach, enjoyed taking pictures in the parking lot, walked down to the metro station in his outfit, and even visited an amusement park! When photography became popular, Bob thought about publishing a book, Ballerina. To publish the book, Bob needs to raise $ 75,000, he hopes that caring people will take part in his charity event. He decided to devote his literary work to all women in whose lives a terrible diagnosis sounded, their relatives, as well as doctors who help to cope with the disease. In his opinion, this will help draw attention to the terrible misfortune of mankind, and will be a good support for everyone who is left alone with the disease!
Of course, the photographer gets into a lot of trouble when shooting, because he always clicks shots in public places. Bob often takes a tutu with him and, having caught the right moment, immediately transforms into a ballerina. But real ballerinas on the streets of the city, on the contrary, are not at all pretentious. But the plasticity and gracefulness cannot be hidden even in everyday life! About this - the photo project of compatriot Bob Carey, photo artist Dane Shitagi, called The Ballerina Project!

How the ballet tutu appeared 200 years ago, and what transformations took place with it
Almost two hundred years ago, the famous ballerina Maria Taglioni first appeared on stage in Paris in a fluffy multi-layer skirt, which later became known as a tutu. By modern standards, it was a very modest suit - it covered the legs to mid-calf. The dress, which was revolutionary for its time, caused a lot of indignation, because before that the dancers performed only in long, completely closed dresses
Natural beauty and frost on the skin: Observation decks that only the most courageous climb
To all appearances, modern people, accustomed to a comfortable and measured life, really lack adrenaline. Even watching horror movies and visiting a roller coaster does not help. How else to understand the fact that more and more tourists are ready to fly to distant lands to visit the most terrible observation decks in the world? But the mere sight of these structures "hovering" over the abyss, in theory, should discourage any desire to visit them
An egg to every soldier, an army - a tank: a Challenger II mockup at a charity event to help servicemen
An unusual event is held annually in London to support the heroes of the British army. The founders of the Charitable Foundation offer everyone to buy eggs in khaki packaging, 15 pence of the cost of each purchase is sent to help the military. However, this year a real surprise awaits all buyers: the Challenger II tank, assembled from 5016 cardboard boxes, into which eggs were packed, will be demonstrated at the event
In the name of charity: pearl kings and queens on the streets of London
Phrase of Semyon Gorbunkov: "Don't you have the same one, but with mother-of-pearl buttons?" from the legendary comedy "The Diamond Arm" has long been winged. But the pearl kings and queens (simply referred to as - "pearlies"), which every year take to the streets of London, these same mother-of-pearl buttons - more than enough. People in mother-of-pearl suits gather to raise charity in support of the English working class
Bob Carey photoshoot: pink ballet tutu is a new way to fight breast cancer
At first glance, the hero of these pictures gives the impression of either a madman or a transsexual hungry for fame. In fact, the man in the photographs, Bob Carey, is not looking for fame, and his orientation is all right. And a pink tutu is a reason to make your wife smile. Since the day Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer, a caring husband tried in every possible way to distract his beloved from sad thoughts
