"And I plant aluminum cucumbers on a canvas field" - this was before, when a legendary man, Viktor Robertovich Tsoi, still lived and worked on earth. And this field looked so impressive that it is remembered and sung to this day. Whereas a modern sculptor named Ben-David Zadok (Zadok Ben David), an Israeli living in London, recently planted a different but equally impressive field. Sandy, with hundreds of metal plants on it, it's called Blackfield … Will it remain in the memory of descendants as a tarpaulin one? The author had to cut out about 12 thousand silhouettes of metal in order to "sow" flowers and other plants into a sandy field several inches thick and several hundred square meters in size. To make the plant figurines, several centimeters high, match the originals, Ben-David Zadok borrowed illustrations from botany textbooks and cut out samples of flowers and herbs using visual aids. It turned out not only very similar, it turned out almost perfect. Apart from the fact that these plants are made of metal.
And if someone from the connoisseurs of such extraordinary installations is impressed by the very fact of 12,000 metallic flowers planted in sandy ground, the highlight of the Blackfield project is not only this. The fact is that if you look at this amazing field from the front, it looks black, burned out, damaged by fire and human negligence. Actually, that's why the installation is called "Blackfield". However, if you walk around the field from the opposite side, black plants turn into a bright meadow full of life and color.
A sandy field with Blackfield metallic flowers is on display at Artclub 1563, Seoul, and can be seen there until February 2012.

A field of shoes and a grass of laces. Installation "Field" by Dominic Wilcox
It seems that the time is coming when manufacturers are beginning to understand that ordinary advertising rather annoys potential buyers than encourages them to buy a particular product. This means that you have to come up with something new, non-standard, creative, and advertising is gradually turning from a simple "engine of trade" into real works of art. One of them - the installation "Field" - in front of you
