To paraphrase a well-known expression, all kinds of hobbies are needed, all kinds of hobbies are important. So, someone paints the walls of a hotel room for a whole week, someone makes collages from photographs of celebrities from different eras, or even scans a section of chocolates … And a Korean artist Trong G. Nguyen rewrites favorite works of classics of foreign literature on … rice grains … The artist explains the reason for the emergence of this amazing art project, which was named Library, very simply: he likes to make people look carefully and think a lot. And the book rewritten on rice is not a hellish puzzle in the spirit of the evil stepmother Cinderella? Although many people prefer to think that the author was simply worried that people stopped reading books, and decided in this way to attract their interest in the classics.

Perhaps, realizing that someone has done a real feat, transferring to the surface of grains of rice a passage from the famous "Prince and the Pauper" by Mark Twain or "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens, such people will be at least a little interested to read it on paper. And it all started when the author read all the works of Marcel Proust, and was so impressed that he wanted to do something amazing in the name of his discovery. And I didn’t think of anything better than to transfer his "In Search of Lost Time" word for word onto rice grains. Exactly 1.5 million words. But it would have taken several years, so Trong G. Nguyen put his idea aside for a while, and instead transferred passages and individual chapters from equally famous works of other authors onto rice grains.

The author packed all the works in transparent bags, marking them with seals, as is done with library cards in public libraries. The entire Library art project was made with the finest mechanical pen, without the use of a magnifying glass.
