In Ukraine, where he lives, as well as in the countries of near and far abroad, the young sculptor Oleg Pinchuk does not need advertising. His "unknown animals", cast from bronze, have long lived in the collections of such celebrities as Pope John Paul II and Pierre Cardin, and all wealthy representatives of both local and visiting beau monde gather at exhibitions with the participation of a talented Kievite of Lviv origin. So, in the rays of glory, Pinchuk bathed for a long time and calls himself nothing more than a "genius of sculpture".

A fish with a human face, a rhinoceros with fins, an elephant on pig's legs … All these outlandish creatures, which many saw either in nightmares or in the paintings of surrealist artists, were "spawned" from bronze by our brilliant compatriot Oleg Pinchuk, endowing them with outlandish poses and strange names.

By the way, the bronze Pinchuk animals are so strange for a reason. As the author himself says, in contemporary art it is important not only "what" you do, but also "why", that is, creativity should have a philosophical implication, some special thought embedded within the work, some bright idea. That is why people are ready to spend hours looking at the ridiculous daub of surrealist artists, and then admire what they see for hours. They are admired not by the talented work performed, but by the philosophy hidden in it, which each of us sees and perceives in his own way. Therefore, what makes people happy is not what they see, but what they read "inside."

Oleg Pinchuk learned this lesson perfectly, and brilliantly embodies his incredible philosophical ideas, putting them into the bronze bodies of sculptures. According to him, they are us, because in each of us there are several "guises" hidden, which come out depending on a particular situation. Therefore, fish have human faces, rhinos have fins, people have horns and tails …

By the way, the sculptor has a rather curious collection of works, which you can look at online - in his gallery official site.
