Each of us played with dolls in childhood, although for the most part girls are engaged in this, of course. However, we all admire dolls - how much they resemble living children … and some of them are, thanks to the photographers.

Looking at these photos, one cannot help but notice that the dolls are very much like children - their facial expressions are so natural. In fact, the photographer duo Winkler + Noah felt that no dolls could replace real children for us. On our screens we see photographs of children from two to eight years old, and with the help of Photoshop, lines were simply added to them near the chin. These lines make them look like dolls … but only for a few moments. Then we understand that children are real. Photographers on their website spoke about the idea - they believe that we ask children to be perfect, like dolls. However, children who have grown up so ideal, taught what they say on TV and radio, just lose all their naturalness. The photographers emphasize that the best gift we can give children is to let them be children.

I must say that the photo session was very successful. Children are really very natural in photographs - they just smile, or look trustingly into the frame, or are surprised, or a little sad. But all the same, they remain children, not dolls in our hands. What many parents sometimes forget … I think that the project was a success for the photographers - each of us, having seen the photos, will think about something different.
