Can you keep secrets? Then do not ask the quickly "thinned" people "what to eat in order to lose weight", all the same, they will not tell the truth. Likewise, you should not ask sculptors, artists and installation masters where they get their inspiration, because each of them has his own "know-how", and sometimes such that you never dreamed of. So, looking at the surreal sculptures that the sculptor creates Ellen Jewett from Canada, I would like to ask the author a lot of questions about her inspiring muses. But we remember secrets, right? Ellen herself says that she "gets" these images from her chaotic fantasy and childhood, which was spent catching snails, watching small insects swarming in the grass, and other entertainments that some parents would consider strange as for their child. Subsequently, thanks in large part to her childhood hobbies, Ellen received a diploma in biological anthropology, but by this time her art project "Creatures from El" had already begun to come true.
Mythical animals, as if collected in parts from dozens of different fairy tales, films and stories, these works are similar to the inspirational work of a crazy professor who deals with issues of cloning and breeding. Some animals are painful and pitiful to look at, others give you goosebumps, and there are also some that can easily illustrate modern fantasy horror films and cartoons.
But what is interesting is that there is no anger and aggression in them. Rather, sadness and hopelessness, depression and gloomy despondency. Which, however, is not surprising. Ellen uploads all her work to her portfolio on deviantart, and you can buy any of her works in the Etsy store.

The works of the Spaniard Jaume Montserrat are amazing: his hollow animals seem to live in a kind of parallel universe, where everyone is equal in the face of an all-encompassing emptiness. Montserrat's illustrations are simple yet incredibly original. This symbiosis is the attraction of his work
If animals would become humans: surreal photographs of half-beasts
"Second Skin" is not just another horror film from a cult director-screenwriter, but a stunningly surreal series of works by photographer Miguel Vallinas, in which half-people, half-beasts, dressed in expensive clothes and accessories, appear before the viewer in all their glory. And it is not at all surprising that these anthropomorphic creatures attract attention to themselves, making an indelible impression, because each of them has its own specific image and style, and, accordingly, is dressed in the latest fashion
