They are not only beautiful and can decorate the interior, being skillfully carved sculptures from wood, but also useful because they show the exact time, being also a creative clock. Despite the fact that Yuri Firsanov is primarily a watchmaker, at heart he is an artist, sculptor and cabinetmaker. His art project is called "Watches with a Russian Soul", it was created over five years, and at the moment most of the collection is in the private possession of connoisseurs of everything beautiful, unusual and talented.
Why "Watch with a Russian soul" is easy to guess. The plots taken by the author to create sculptures refer us to the life and traditions of our ancestors. There is a Russian bathhouse, and an old man on a block, and a samovar with bagels, and bread and salt on an embroidered tablecloth, and a horseshoe for luck, and a merry fellow with an accordion … It's hard to imagine that all this was done by hand, hewed out of wood and turned into workers, real watch.
