The exhibition titled “Annie Leibovitz. The Life of a Photographer 1990-2005”became an exhibition of portraits of the artist's family members and world celebrities. The exhibition consists of works that are presented in the album of the same name and tell about the last 15 years of the life and work of the artist Leibovitz. This book was published in 2006, after the tragic events in the artist's life: two people close to her passed away - her father and her best friend.

“At that moment, I realized how important personal photographs are to me. After all, every moment we experience deserves to be told about it,”Leibovitz said, speaking at the opening of the exhibition. “It is impossible to penetrate into the soul of a person if you do not spend a lot of time on communication with him. It is for this reason that personal photos are so different from those of celebrities. The soul can only be conveyed in personal photographs, since we have known close and dear people for a lifetime,”added Leibovitz.

Leibovitz will exhibit in Moscow about 200 works, including portraits of Elizabeth II, Bill Clinton, Mikhail Baryshnikov, William Burroughs, Nicole Kidman, Mick Jagger, Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson, Brad and Pitt, Kate Moss celebrities. In addition, photographs of the destroyed New York Twin Towers and footage from the filming of the Star Wars movie will be presented. Annie Leibovitz said that the Moscow exhibition is not just one of many for her.

“I am insanely glad that during my lifetime I see my works in the museum, which bears the name of Pushkin,” the photographer emphasized and expressed her hopes that she would be able to conduct photography courses in Moscow.
