Pizza has long since ceased to be a purely Italian product. All over the world, almost every family has their own favorite pizza recipes. This culinary globalization is the focus of the project to create miniature pizzas as flags different countries from the blog Tiny Urban Kitchen.
It's hard to find a country that doesn't like pizza. Surely, even in closed totalitarian societies such as North Korea or Myanmar, there is a certain category of people who are not averse to enjoying this once Italian dish.
And, of course, every country and every family has its own specific rules and recipes for making pizza, taking into account local culinary traditions and local products.
Here is the Tiny Urban Kitchen blog and a project dedicated to these local traditions of pizza making has appeared. It was created by a user known on this blog under the nickname Jen, who, after returning from a trip to any of the countries of the world, decided to create a special pizza in the form of the flag of this country and using products characteristic of the traditional cuisine of this country.
For example, rice and a slice of salmon became the stuffing for pizza in the shape of the flag of Japan. The US flag is crafted with blue potatoes, mozzarella and bacon. The flag of Canada is made from tomato, onion and tomato sauce, seasoned with maple syrup. Well, the UK flag is made with sausages, ham and cream cheese.
Jen's arsenal has about two dozen similar pizzas in the form of country flags. But she continues to travel and, therefore, in the near future we can expect new culinary geopolitical masterpieces from her.
Although, of course, we have already seen something similar in the project to create flags of states from food, carried out by designers from the creative agency WHYBIN / TBWA.
