Train - this is a small life, a strange intersection of dozens of disparate destinies, a vacuum in which absolutely strangers must coexist for a certain time. Here, as in the eternal "carriage dispute": "one says our life is a train, the other says it is a platform." To take a look at the reserved seat reality of the inhabitants of China in the documentary photo cycle offers Wang fuchun … Having worked for many years on the railway, he has collected a unique collection of photographs in which people smile, despite everyday difficulties.

Documentary photo projects about the life of children and adults are one of the most effective ways of capturing the surrounding reality: sincerely, accessible and impressive. This rule was followed by the 68-year-old photographer Wang Fuchun, creating his cycle of "carriage" pictures. The Chinese man came to the idea that trains are always "loaded" with human hopes and regrets, which is why it is so important to be able to capture this.

Wang Fuchun thought about the career of a railway worker for the first time in 1970, when he decided to follow in the footsteps of his older brother (he also worked on trains). Wang Fuchun showed remarkable artistic talent, which was soon noticed by the management of the railway, then one of his duties was assigned to one more: to photograph passengers. By 1984, a talented Chinese man had become a real professional and could no longer imagine his life without a camera in his hands, but he did not quit his job. Until now, he makes two or three trips a month, walking with a camera through the carriages. For several decades, Wang Fuchun has collected a whole archive of the history of the development of the Chinese railway.

Black and white photographs of Wang Fuchun amaze, first of all, with their naturalness and the love with which the author notices the smallest details of the surrounding reality. The smiles of parents, the tenderness of lovers, caring for their elders - this is all that helps people to remain human in the most difficult situations.
