The average morning for the average Englishman begins with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, a cup of coffee and a few toasts, greased with butter, marmalade, jam, or whatever the average British refrigerator is rich in. For someone who is not considered an average Briton, the morning also begins with a slice of toasted bread. But in this case it is not used for food - it is added to the collection of decorated toasts.

Ximena Escobar is a British artist who prefers not to eat bread, but to paint on it. As a result, thin slices of carefully dried and ironed bread of all sorts become her canvases, and instead of paint, the artist uses ink, tea, chocolate, or makes an applique from paper, fabric or plants.

Ximena Escobar has repeatedly demonstrated her collection of decorated toasts at exhibitions. The gallery of "grain" works can also be viewed online, if you look at its website.
