It's hard to imagine what companies like Volkswagen and Facebook. But, nevertheless, these world famous corporations have teamed up to create a very unusual product that carries a fair amount of humor - facebook-car fanwagen.
Fanwagen cars (a combination of the words "fan" and "car") are based on two iconic models from Volkswagen - Volkswagen T1 and Volkswagen Beetle. These models are currently symbols of entire eras, and of Volkswagen itself, too.
Fanwagen are the cars of these two mentioned models, modernized as if they were accounts on the social network Facebook.
For example, a person's name and family status are displayed on the license plate of Fanwagen cars. Privacy is achieved through curtains that can be pushed aside or retracted from the passenger compartment.
On the front of the car is a tear-off calendar and printouts of the ten latest events from the news feeds of information sites.
You can video chat with friends in the backseat of your Fanwagen using the rearview mirror. And you can choose a specific friend for communication by adjusting his angle. The wall of the account is a board where you can attach photos, news, notes and other information.
While driving, Fanwagen cars can interact with other cars on the road, for example, winking at them using side-view mirrors.
The Fanwagen also comes with a paper map showing the location of the driver's Facebook friends.
Of course, no one is going to release the Fanwagen T1 and Fanwagen Beetle on the streets of cities. They are made for marketing purposes in order to please fans of Volkswagen and Facebook products. The automaker Porshe did something similar, putting on one of its cars a million names of people who added the company's Facebook page as friends on Facebook.
