In her life, the main place has always been occupied by love and creativity. She wrote many good works in the genre of short prose, but became famous after the release of films based on her scripts, including "Gentlemen of Fortune" and "Mimino". Victoria Tokareva has lived all her life with one man, but at the same time she does not consider treason to be something out of the ordinary. And she herself had a 15-year romance with a famous director.
Bright past
Victoria Shefter was born in November 1937 in Leningrad. During the war, the father went to the militia, and the mother, with her two daughters, the same weather, Regina and Victoria, went to evacuate to the Kirov region. They never saw their husband and dad again: their father was diagnosed with cancer of the stomach, he died four months before Victory Day.
Mom directed all her efforts to ensure that her daughters received a decent education. Immediately after returning to Leningrad, she acquired a German piano for the younger Victoria and began to teach music. The eldest, Regina, has been studying languages since childhood.
Despite the fact that Victoria has been studying music since childhood and was in love with literature, she dreamed of becoming a doctor. But after leaving school, she nevertheless entered the music school, then studied at the conservatory, and then taught music. Victoria Shefter's mother loved her daughters very much, but literally stifled them with her love. It is not surprising that the youngest daughter, tired of the custody of a rather authoritarian mother, simply fled to marry.
At home with one of her students, she met Viktor Tokarev. The young man completely conquered her. He was dressed like a real dude, but most of all, 20-year-old Victoria was struck by his bright blue eyes. Later, she will understand that she made the right choice. Viktor Tokarev had a heightened sense of responsibility for his family. And he was madly in love with their daughter Natalia.
But then, giving her consent to the wedding, Victoria did not yet know that the main love in her life was still ahead.
No coincidence romance
In 1962, Victoria Tokareva decided to enter the screenwriting department of VGIK, but failed in the exams. The decisive role in the fact that she still became a student of the renowned university was her acquaintance with Sergei Mikhalkov, a famous poet. She invited him several times to the school where she taught music, and after she did not find her last name in the lists of applicants, Victoria Tokareva called the poet and just sobbed into the phone for several minutes. Having found out what was the reason for the bitter tears of the young music teacher, Mikhalkov called somewhere, and Tokareva was on the list of first-year students.
Already in her student years, Victoria Tokareva began to write and very quickly became popular. Real fame came to her after films based on her scripts began to appear on the screens. The first was "A Lesson in Literature", which was based on Victoria Tokareva's debut story "A Day Without Lies".
She did not know how to write scripts at that time, and therefore they gave her an assistant. Ironically, it turned out to be Georgy Danelia himself. They began to write the script together, but a week after the start of work, the relationship between the young writer and the famous director turned into a romantic one.
Victoria Tokareva proudly admits that at that time it was impossible not to fall in love with her. However, don't fall in love with Danelia either. The situation was complicated by the fact that the director, although he was not officially married, lived with the wonderful actress Lyubov Sokolova, and their son Nikolai was already seven years old.
Tokareva's daughter Natalya was three years old, and she loved her father very much. And there was a love that could not be hidden or ignored. But Victoria Samoilovna herself admitted that she always received an offer to become the director's wife only in one case: when Danelia was under the influence of alcohol. He wrote passionate messages to his beloved, promised to take responsibility for the fate of Victoria herself and her daughter. But in the morning the alcohol ceased to work, and Georgy Danelia did not even remember that he spoke to her on the phone or wrote in notes.
Invented love
According to the writer, the director's mother did not allow Georgy Nikolaevich to leave Lyubov Sokolov with the child. But the director himself, giving an interview to the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" by phone, categorically denied the fact that he had an affair with Victoria Tokareva. He admitted: Victoria Samoilovna was a beauty, they only worked together, and she, as a writer, just invented their relationship.
Victoria Tokareva, commenting on this interview with the director, said: Danelia, as a true Georgian, did not want to injure her husband, who was still alive by that time. True, in the same interview, Georgy Nikolaevich spoke about Tokareva's romance with the writer Borodyansky, with whom Victoria Samoilovna denies a close relationship.
Be that as it may, the writer has her own view of the events that took place in her life. Perhaps no one will know the truth about this. Neither her husband nor Georgy Danelia is alive anymore. She never intended to leave her husband Viktor Tokarev, explaining this by a very close relationship with him. They lived together very well and "sprouted" into each other.
And treason is not at all a reason to part with a loved one. Falling in love, according to Victoria Tokareva, gives wings and creative inspiration, but at the same time the family should remain a family. And to destroy it because of a hobby, even if it is long, is not at all worth it.
She does not regret anything, and still continues to enjoy life and enjoy every day she lives. All her hobbies are long in the past, but amazing works, vivid heroes and ageless films remain eternal.
Georgy Danelia is one of the leaders of Russian cinema, who can rightfully be called a “legendary director”. He directed the comedies beloved by millions of "Mimino" and "Kin-dza-dza", wrote the script for the famous "Gentlemen of Fortune", played small roles in his films, and many directors and actors gratefully call him a teacher.
