Design Boom Gallery presents - Design Icons: Karim Rashid. An exhibition dedicated to one of the most famous and extraordinary designers in the world. Karim Rashid was born on September 18, 1960 in Cairo to an Anglo - Egyptian family and grew up in Canada. Educated in the field of industrial design at the Carleton University in Ottawa (Canada), where he was awarded a bachelor's degree. And in 1982 he completed his postgraduate studies in Italy.
This amazing designer has brought to life over 2,500 projects, including in the fields of architecture, interior design, fashion, furniture, light, art and music. Karim Rashid currently lives in New York, where he runs his own design studio. He also designed the Morimoto restaurant in Philadelphia and the Semiramis hotel in Athens. Rashid was a professor of Industrial Design and is now a guest of honor at various universities and conferences around the world. His works have become a permanent part of the collections of many museums of modern art, including MoMA New York, Center Pompidou in Paris.
