Mayakovsky is known as a rebel, "petrel of the revolution" and a futurist poet, who left a bright mark in the literature of the 20th century. In addition to poetry, he clearly showed himself as a playwright, screenwriter, film director, film actor, artist. The only film with his participation that has survived to this day is "The Young Lady and the Bully" - a story in which youthful love and social insecurity are woven into a poetic story about a rebellious and touching rebel.
The figure of Mayakovsky is one of the brightest in Russian art of the first third of the 20th century. He managed to leave his mark not only in literature, but also in cinema. Until our time, miraculously survived (with the exception of the credits) the silent film "The Young Lady and the Bully", in which the poet played the main role of the Bully.
It is worth noting that Mayakovsky spoke with pathos and categorically about the young cinematographic art at that time. In 1922 he wrote the poem Cinema and Cinema:
For you, cinema is a spectacle. For me it is almost an outlook on the world. Cinema is a vehicle of movement. Cinema is an innovator of literatures. Cinema is a destroyer of aesthetics. Cinema is fearlessness. Cinema is an athlete. Cinema is a scatter of ideas. But cinema is sick. Capitalism showered his eyes with gold. Artful businessmen take him by the handle through the streets. They collect money, stirring their hearts with whiny plots. This must be an end. Communism must take away cinema from speculative guides. Futurism must evaporate dead water - slowness and morality. Without this, we will have either imported American tap dance or continuous "tearful eyes" of the Mozzhukhins. The first is tired, the second even more.
And to the spiteful critics who said "here is Mayakovsky, you see, the poet, so let him sit on his poetry shop …", he retorted: ""
In March 1918, Mayakovsky wrote the script for the film Born Not for Money, based on the novel by D. London, Martin Eden, and he himself starred in the title role of the poet Ivan Nova. D. Burliuk, V. Kamensky and L. Grinkrug also took part in the film. In May in the cinema "Modern" (now "Metropol") a screening was held, which was attended by A. Lunacharsky. Subsequently, the film was shown for several years in many cities. Not a single copy of the painting has yet been found.
In May 1918, Mayakovsky wrote the script "Chained by the Film", where L. Brik and the poet himself starred. The painting was completed by mid-June. In the 70s, several rejected pieces of this film were discovered.
Almost simultaneously with the release of this picture, another film was released with Mayakovsky in the title role - "The Young Lady and the Hooligan", filmed without a script, directly based on the story "The Teacher of Workers" by E. De Amicis. The painting has survived. Enjoy your viewing.
Especially for fans of Russian poetry post of adoration of Vladimir Mayakovsky, which left a huge mark on the art of the Silver Age.

What secrets does the 19th century merchant tower keep in Nizhny Novgorod and how it has survived to this day
For a long time this house-teremok on Dalnaya Street remained a unique example of the ancient wooden architecture of Nizhny Novgorod. Now we can only see a copy of it. The original is preserved in photographs. This "fairy house" is unique in that it is the only wooden building of Nizhny Novgorod, erected in the "ropetovschina" style and decorated with such a rich decor, which stood in the city until the 2010s. True, they began to actively restore it only when the president was "reminded" of the mansion
What clothes from the 1990s are at the height of fashion again: The time for boiled bikes and bicycles (and not only) has come
Fashion is cyclical, and designers, indulging in nostalgia, periodically suggest returning to a particular era. And this time they decided to make a stop in the dashing 90s, where a riot of colors, oversized robes, experiments with style and the most unexpected combinations reigned. Interestingly, this time, non-couturiers were the first to pay attention to the trends of the last decade of the 20th century - the style first appeared “on the streets”, later settled in social networks, and only then eminent fashion houses drew attention to it
