The opening of the International Forum of Ancient Cities is scheduled for August 13 in Ryazan. Such a forum is being held for the first time and it starts with a conference, the theme of which will be the historical and cultural heritage, because it is considered a guarantee of the stable development of ancient cities. This forum should bring together the leaders of 40 old cities, and not only from Russia, but also from other countries. Cities that are at least 500 years old can take part in the forum. The main task of this forum is the opportunity for city leaders to discuss existing problems, find solutions that will contribute to the development and preservation of these cities.
Nikolai Lyubimov, governor of the Ryazan region, said that old cities are quite attractive for tourists, but they all have similar problems. He called outdated infrastructure, problems with transport accessibility such problems. In some ancient cities there are no modern hotels and restaurants, there is no possibility of so-called budget vacations. Solving such problems is the initial challenge.
Specialists from Uzbekistan, Belarus, Turkey and Serbia were invited to take part in the conference, which will begin the first International Forum of Ancient Cities. A large number of cities of the Russian Federation will take part in the forum: Pereslavl-Zalessky, Veliky Ustyug, Smolensk, Moscow, Tula, Vladimir, Veliky Novgorod, Kozelsk, Kerch, Kolomna, etc. The Ryazan region at this event was represented by Kasimov, Ryazhsky, Pronsky and Ryazan … It will also host in this forum ancient cities and cities from 12 other countries: Belgrade, Ankara, Yerevan. Istanbul, Tallinn, Manavgat, Bukhara, Brest, Tashkent, Thessaloniki, Naples, Grodno, Granada, Lovech, Sparta, Paris, Munster, Trier, Vitebsk, etc.
Gastronomic tourism programs will be implemented throughout the week during this event. Chefs from eight countries will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes. Igor Bukharov, President of the Russian Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers, Leonid Gelibterman, President of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy were involved in this event. The organizers have planned to hold lectures, exhibitions, and a master class during the forum. They also want to please the guests with a cultural program involving theaters and creative teams from cities that take part in the forum.
