In a small shop of a French designer Olympia le-tan at Rue St. Honoré has little to do with fashion. There are no mannequins trying on the main novelties of the season, no long rows of hangers, no fitting rooms, no mirrors. Around there is a real paradise for book lovers with slender rows of cabinets and shelves, completely filled with a variety of literary masterpieces. There are also much more unexpected things - for example, jars of caviar and cartons of milk. Miniature, stylish, made of wood and covered with felt - everything that visitors see in the store is actually fashionable clutches.
“Intelligent accessories” - this is how the designer calls her works, confident that a modern woman needs something much more than just a beautiful outer shell. She seeks to fill her image with meaning, content, which these unusual accessories are designed to tell about.
The talented Frenchwoman tried to put a special meaning in each copy, issued to her. Carefully choosing samples for her future models from her father's home collection, the designer presented fashionistas with the most interesting literary masterpieces: from Ernest Hemingway's novel For Whom the Bell Tolls and Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, which has long been chosen for themselves by many famous women of fashion, to reading "Much lighter and more mundane, like" Cooking for two ". And especially romantic natures, the fashion designer offered to arm themselves with several collections of Shakespeare's works.
But literature was far from the only thing that inspired the designer. And if Israeli designer Gur Kimel While nature itself suggested the designs for his accessories, Olympia Le Tan found a much more practical source, presenting her new collection, which included models made in the form of retro caviar jars and milk cartons. It turned out original and ironic - just right for those who like extravagance and fun.
Although the cost of this intellectual fun is nowhere near as pretty as the handbags themselves. It usually starts at 900 euros. So not everyone will be able to collect a book collection from Olympia Le Tan. But on the other hand, you can be 100% sure that such a clutch will hardly find a "twin brother".
