The International Association of Professional Photographers of Childbirth ran a competition for the best snapshot of the birth process and the winners were finally announced. These 15 pictures can truly touch the soul and cause admiration for every woman who has ever brought a new person to this world.
The competition is being held for the fifth time, celebrating the "beauty of birth and the experience of photographers". All works were divided into three categories: "Pregnancy," "Birth" and "After birth". Being a photographer at the birth of a child is a very responsible job, and whether or not to invite a stranger to capture such an intimate process is, of course, a purely personal decision of the parents themselves.
"Capturing the birth of a child in a photo is not only a direct process of childbirth, it is also the environment, parents, everyone who is present at the same time. These are tears of joy, the miracle of a new life and a feeling of celebration. Photographers who work in this area should not just capture the process, they must tell the story with their photographs."
As you can see from the photos, quite a few mothers decide to give birth at home in the water. So Carey Rosario decided to give birth to her third child in this way, and her friend captured the whole process. This photo session can be seen in our article. "A man was born! Pictures of natural childbirth taking place at home in the bathroom".
