The most expensive artists of our time were named in Russia. The corresponding rating was compiled by Forbes. The rating was compiled on the basis of sales of the Cosmoscow-2017 contemporary art fair and auctions that took place over the past two years. Valery Koshlyakov turned out to be the leader of the list. The volume of sales of his works approached the figure of 147 thousand euros. In second place is Vladimir Potapov, who was able to earn 117 thousand euros. Vitaly Pushnitsky completed the top three with 100 thousand euros of sales.
In addition to the listed masters, the list includes such artists as: Emen Motolyanets, Anna Acorn, Kirill Chelushkin, Aidan Salakhova, Vladimir Dubossarsky, Sergei Bratkov, Alexey Kallima, Olga Chernysheva, Artem Filatov, Rostan Tavasiev, Pavel Pepperstein, Konstantin Latyshev, Dasha Kudin Grigory Orekhov, Vlad Yurashko, Evgeniya Nozhkina and Vadim Fishkin. They are all listed in order from highest earnings to lowest.
At the same time, Forbes journalists noted that the prices for the works of the best Russian artists are much lower than for the works of their foreign colleagues. They are not only lower than the earnings of Western artists, but also lower than the world average in this area. At the same time, the sales volume of Cosmoscow testifies to the desire of domestic (and not only) collectors to change this situation.
