What would you think if, while resting somewhere in a resort, you suddenly saw a huge line of cars and a crane that would go straight to the shore with the rest and begin to load first on ships, and later completely lower military equipment under the water? This is the scene that local residents and vacationers could observe at the only sea resort in Jordan in the city of Aqaba on the shores of the Red Sea.
Jordan is inland, surrounded by Israel, Syria and Saudi Arabia. There are very few large bodies of water on its territory - this is the Dead Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba of the Red Sea. The Jordanian authorities decided to make their resort more attractive to tourists and ordered a small underwater museum.
To do this, 19 decommissioned military vehicles were brought to the shore, taken a little from the shore and flooded them at a depth of 28 meters. The newly created Submarine War Museum includes several tanks, an ambulance, a military crane, an aircraft carrier, an anti-aircraft battery, weapons and a combat helicopter, the Aqaba Special Economic Zones Authority (Aseza) said. All these machines were located among the coral reef, and in such a way that they mimic the tactical combat structure.
Considering the incredibly clear water of the Red Sea, it will be possible to see tanks and other vehicles not only by scuba diving, but even from special tourist boats equipped with a glass bottom. But most of all, the government still counts on the interest of divers, since the Red Sea is one of the few where coral reefs have not undergone global warming and are relatively safe, and together with the flooded military equipment, now this resort has become doubly attractive.
In this place, the question may arise: if this is such a unique place and important for the life of corals, was it worth it to pollute it with technology? Aseza reported that they removed all parts from the cars that could harm the ecosystem of the sea. Moreover, they even think about creating an artificial reef around the museum, thus "pulling the attention" of divers from the real reef and giving that time and opportunity to recover.
In fact, the experience of diving equipment under water to attract tourists has been around for a relatively long time. And more recently, a huge Boeing 747 70 meters long was flooded in Bahrain and turned into an underwater amusement park.
Crimean Museum Tarkhankut It is also under water, but it contains not military vehicles, but statues of the leaders of the USSR - and this museum is already more than 15 years old.

Utrecht's Letters: How the Dutch are converting a city into a book again to show that each of us is the hero of a poem
For the last twenty years, it is believed that street art has been developing especially rapidly and reaching new heights - and this is all because people began to regard the city as “their own”, and not “government”, space and strive to master it in one way or another.
