Today it is no longer possible to imagine our daily life without social networks. Almost everyone has a page on one or more social networks. Social networks are available not only for adults, but also for children, which are an easy target for various scammers.

The popularity of social networks among children, among other things, is also due to the easy registration on such sites. Registration is a description of template information about yourself (name, gender, date of birth, email). The rest of the fields in the registration forms are optional, however, it is quite problematic for children aged 6-13 years to filter information, and therefore, they consider it necessary to fill in all the empty fields, especially if the site itself indicates that the more fields during registration filled, the more friends there will be. In this case, the field "about himself" is especially dangerous, where the child can write down all information about himself, starting with his favorite color, ending with the time when his parents are not at home. Scammers pay close attention to pages with such information.

So what kind of scams do criminals use?

1. Buy a gift. Scammers create a page for a store or a brand. Then they get to know the child, talk about what gifts the child can buy for their parents in their store. Well, what child does not want to give an unexpected pleasant gift to his parents? In addition, scammers can register a profile of a child of the same age and living in the same city as the alleged victim of the scam. From the specified page, they enthusiastically talk about where and for how much they bought a gift for their parents, as well as how the parents were happy with such a gift.

2. Send me money. This scam is aimed at girls. The essence of the scam is that a page of a famous brand of a modeling agency is created on a social network with photographs of celebrities from the Internet. Further, the scammers are looking for girls interested in fashion and inviting them to become models, but with one condition - girls must send 1,000 rubles to a card or electronic wallet in order to prove that girls really want to become models. An adult will "see through" this scam in a second, however, children are too gullible and therefore will not suspect a trick. And the scammers, having received a certain amount of money from several girls, delete the page without leaving a trace.

3. Invite me to visit. This method of scam can bring large material losses on the part of the victims. The fraudster carefully examines the pages of children, looking for pictures of jewelry from them. When a child with similar photos is on the page, the fraudster gets to know the child, tries to make friends with him. As soon as the child begins to consider the swindler his friend, he will ask to go home to the child, but only at a time when the parents are not at home, as he is very shy. And as soon as the fraudster gets home, he will immediately rob the apartment. Having learned about this from a child, you must immediately go to the fraudster's page, take screenshots of all the information from the page, and also take screenshots of the correspondence with the child. And only then you need to go write a statement to the police.

Try to communicate with your child more often, take an interest in his life. In order to check the level of the child's skills - ask him to register you on the social network. So you can check how much the child can independently secure his page. It is recommended to have your own page on social networks and visit the child's page at least 1-2 times a day.
