Valentina Dvoryaninova was born in 1928 into a military family. Her father went through the First World War, the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, and after that he continued to serve as a border guard officer. The family often moved from city to city, and Valentina's mother played and sang in army amateur groups at her husband's place of service. She passed on her love for the stage to her daughter. During her school years, she studied vocals at the Palace of Pioneers in Tbilisi, then entered the music school in Odessa and performed in the border ensemble, and after the war she moved to Moscow, where she continued her studies at the music school at the conservatory.

At the age of 25, Valentina Dvoryaninova began performing in the choir on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater, 4 years later she became a soloist of the orchestra under the direction of Oleg Lundstrem, and then a soloist of the Mosconcert.
