This actor died too early, but his vivid and memorable roles will always remind us of him. He passed away 11 years ago - the actor died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 57. In addition to his acting talent, Patrick Swayze was a multifaceted person - also an excellent dancer, singer and songwriter. The peak of his popularity came in the nineties of the last century, when the most famous paintings with his participation were released. Today we remember the best films with him.

This picture revealed to us the acting talent of Patrick. It was in her that he showed himself in all its glory - the plasticity of the dance, facial expressions, graceful movements, and at the same time incredible naturalness in the birth of a love feeling between him and the main character Baby, played by Jennifer Gray. Young people meet in a resort town, where the girl's family comes to rest.

Johnny (that is the name of the hero Patrick Swayze) is hired as a dancer to entertain the rich guests of the boarding house. During the day, he entertains the guests, and at night, the service staff throws their own party with "dirty", as the girl's father says about them, dances. Baby becomes a random participant in them, and then, by chance, helps Johnny participate in the final dance of the season. Throughout the film, the main character is forced to maneuver between the intrigues of wealthy guests - either he is suspected of paternity or accused of theft. Baby is also difficult - she is only seventeen years old, she is naive and pure, but at the same time she has to contradict her father and do not at all what a decent girl from high society is supposed to do.

Initially, the film was conceived as a low-budget, but later, with a budget of $ 6 million, the gross was almost $ 214 million. The film's soundtrack went platinum, and one of the tracks won an Oscar.

In the Russian version, you can find this movie called "Roadside Diner" or "Roadside Eatery". This is an action movie where Patrick Swayze plays the main role. Its hero, the renowned bouncer James Dalton, is invited to work in a nightclub, where it is necessary to put things in order. It turns out that racketeering reigns in the town - all residents and entrepreneurs of the area are afraid of the gang leader and have to pay him for peace of mind.

The tagline of the picture becomes the phrase: “The dancing is over. Now it's getting messy”- a clear allusion to the previous film. For the filming of the film, Patrick Swayze came in handy with his martial arts skills. The future actor studied Wushu, taekwondo and aikido in his youth. The result is a lucrative film, despite being nominated for five Golden Raspberry Awards. However, the audience liked the action movie, and even became a cult movie - references to the film began to appear in various works.

"Ghost", 1990

A wonderful melodrama starring Patrick Swayze, the charming Demi Moore and the absolutely unique Whoopi Goldberg. By the way, it was thanks to this film that Whoopi received her Oscar statuette. The highest-grossing film of 1990, and one of the most beloved with this actor among the female half. Patrick Swayze appears as a ghost, a ghost who looks after his girlfriend. He learns that his death was not accidental, and that his beloved is also in danger. It is difficult for him to break into the real world, so he has to resort to the help of a quack psychic (Whoopi Goldberg).

The medium is shocked - she did not even suspect that she can really summon spirits. Nevertheless, it is with her help that it is possible to bring out a former friend and prevent a crime. The funny and full of positive picture also received an Oscar for Best Screenplay. Now studio Paramount Television has announced work on a remake of the film.

You can't even tell who is better in this picture - Patrick Swayze or Keanu Reeves. Both are young, beautiful, well-built. Great tandem! It is not for nothing that both actors were nominated for the MTV Award in the "Most Desirable Man" category in 1992. In addition to beautiful landscapes and athletic pumped-up bodies, as well as exciting camera work, which women liked so much, men are more inspired by the plot.

As an action movie, the film is full of chases, speed, incredible stunts. The moment of jumping off the plane when Utah (Keanu Reeves) catches the falling Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) is truly breathtaking. It was he who was nominated for the MTV Award for Best Action Scene. In addition, the very philosophy of a gang of robbers in many ways appeals to free individuals. So this is a great movie that both men and women enjoy watching.

The most unusual role of Patrick Swayze. After all, you must admit that directors do not often offer to play the role of a transvestite. Of course, this is a comedy played in the style of a road movie. The three main characters (or heroes?) Travel to the annual beauty pageant from New York to Hollywood across the country.

On the way, this cheerful company has to stay in a remote town while their car is being repaired. The ladies do not lose heart and try to get maximum pleasure from the unexpected delay. A hilarious comedy that failed to garner critical acclaim, but Patrick Swayze and John Leguizamo received Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor.

An iconic sci-fi film from the young American director Richard Kelly, premiered at the Sundance Festival. In this film, the main roles were played by other actors, but Patrick Swayze got the secondary role of the motivator-speaker Jim Cunningham. The sci-fi film develops the philosophy of time travel: the main character, high school student Donnie Darko, meets a strange man who teaches him to return to the past. However, the present also changes, as it is a consequence of the performed actions. All in all, a rather confusing story, which, however, became a real DVD hit.

If you are into black comedy then this film from director Greg Marks is for you. 11:14 is a time when several completely independent storylines converge into one. Patrick Swayze plays here the role of Jack, who is driving at high speed along the night highway and knocks down a man. However, then it becomes clear to the audience that it is not him at all, but the corpse itself falls from the bridge onto the car that turned out to be there at that moment. And it does not fall by itself, but it is thrown off. In general, the plot is like a tangled ball of thread - you pull, and more and more new knots are formed.
