July 20 marks 79 years of the famous theater and film actress, People's Artist of the USSR Lyudmila Chursina. One of her most famous roles was Anfisa Kozyreva in the film "Gloomy River". In the late 1960s. this film was incredibly popular. According to the plot, the rich legacy of the Thunder family entails misfortune for each of the heroes. The actors who played the main roles in it turned into stars of the all-Union scale. But, unfortunately, some of them had more dramatic fates than their movie heroes.
Georgy Epifantsev
The role of Prokhor Gromov in "Gloomy River" was played by Georgy Epifantsev. The first popularity came to him at the age of 19, when he played the main role in the film "Foma Gordeev". And 9 years later, all-Union glory fell upon him after the release of the film "Gloomy River". Prokhor Gromov was supposed to be played by another actor - Vladimir Gusev, he had already started acting, but received a broken leg during filming, and the director decided to replace him with another actor. This hero turned out to be very close to Epifantsev - he was just as smart and generously gifted by nature, but he could not fully realize all his talents. The following words were addressed to Prokhor Gromov in the film: "". Unfortunately, these words turned out to be prophetic.
In life, he was the same as his movie characters - temperamental and unrestrained, often being held captive by his passions. Even during filming in "Gloomy River" Epifantsev became addicted to drinking and often disrupted the shooting because of this. In the future, the addiction worsened, and the actor was no longer offered the main roles. In the 1970s. he still continued to act in episodes, and in the 1980s. was left without work. Creative unfulfillment led to internal discord. The only thing that kept him on the edge of the abyss was his wife and three children. In the 1990s. the family's financial situation became critical, Epifantsev even had to trade in the market.
At 53, the actor's life was cut short under mysterious circumstances. According to the official version, he fell under the wheels of a train. Why this happened remained a mystery to his family. He was not drunk and could hardly have overlooked the train. The press suggested that he committed suicide, but the actor's wife denied this.
Lyudmila Chursina
The first love of Prokhor Gromov to Anfisa Kozyreva, whom he abandoned for the sake of a profitable marriage, was played by Lyudmila Chursina. She got her first leading role at the age of 23 in the film "The Don Tale", on the set of which she met her future husband, director Vladimir Fetin. This marriage destroyed the husband's addiction to alcohol. At one time, the actress even started drinking with him, but was able to pull herself together. Their separation after 15 years of marriage was so painful for her that she even tried to commit suicide.
Her creative destiny was very successful: in the late 1960s. Chursina played in several films that brought her not only all-Union, but also world popularity: "Gloomy River", "Zhuravushka", "Lyubov Yarovaya", "Olesya". For her role in the film "Crane" the actress won the Grand Prix at the San Sebastiano International Film Festival. After that, she was offered a three-year contract in Hollywood, from which she was forced to refuse - for a Soviet actress this was impossible.
Lyudmila Chursina married twice more, but both marriages quickly broke up. She had no children, but she did not regret it. She never found personal happiness, but in the profession the actress remains in demand until now, filming several projects every year. Today she says: "".
Afanasy Kochetkov
The ancestor of the family fortune, amassed in gold mines, Danila Gromov, was played by Afanasy Kochetkov. In addition to this work, the audience remembered this actor most of all in the image of Maxim Gorky - the famous writer Kochetkov played in 7 films! His film career began in 1954 and has played over 90 roles since then.
For some time his life was very happy - he had a family, a successful acting career, leading roles in the theater, the title of People's Artist. But one day everything collapsed, and Kochetkov began to lose, one after another, everything that was truly dear to him. In 2001, his wife died of cancer, his daughter died at the age of 43, and soon Kochetkov himself was diagnosed with cancer. Despite feeling unwell, he continued to perform on the theatrical stage until 2004. But one day the actor did not come to the rehearsal. He did not answer calls and did not appear at home. Where he spent his last days is still unknown. As it turned out, on the day of his disappearance, he had a stroke, but for some reason he was not taken to the hospital. A week later he was found on the outskirts of Moscow, unconscious, in dirty clothes, with a head injury. Unfortunately, it was not possible to save him. On June 24, 2004, he was gone. The circumstances of his departure are still unclear.
Valentina Ivanova
The wife of Prokhor Gromov, Nina, whom he married of convenience, was played by Valentina Ivanova. In 1968 she graduated from GITIS, and her role in "Gloomy River" became her film debut. But despite the loud popularity of the film and the successful start of her film career, in the future the actress was unable to consolidate this success. After that, viewers saw her in only 6 films-performances, and then she disappeared from the screens. Valentina Ivanova was primarily a theater actress and dedicated her life to the Theater. Ermolova.
Alexander Demyanenko
The role of the clerk Ilya Sokhatykh was played by Alexander Demyanenko. At that time, he was already one of the most popular Soviet actors, known throughout the country in the image of Shurik from the legendary comedies of Leonid Gaidai. "Gloom River" gave him the opportunity to appear before the audience in a completely different role and demonstrate the versatility of his dramatic talent. Nevertheless, his creative destiny could hardly be called very successful.
Despite the incredible popularity and a huge number of roles, Alexander Demyanenko remained a hostage of Shurik's mask image, very far from the inner nature of the actor - behind the scenes he was very unsociable and withdrawn. After moving from Moscow to Leningrad, he did not receive serious theatrical roles, in his mature years he participated only in comedy and entreprise performances. At the age of 62, unable to withstand the strenuous work in the theater and in the cinema, he passed away because of a sick heart.
She was called one of the most beautiful domestic actresses, but she never managed to find personal happiness: What fans don't know about Lyudmila Chursina.
