The goddess of the earth, mother nature, the keeper of the family hearth, fragile and at the same time strong, it is the woman who is the life-giving force that makes the gardens bloom, the crops ripen, and the earth revolves around its axis. At least this is how the Italian sculptor sees her. Lorenzo Quinndedicated to mother nature a whole series of wonderful sculptures The force of nature … Huge bronze ladies, dressed in robes fluttering in the wind, reflect the author's very peculiar, surreal idea of the forces of nature. The name of the Force of Nature series of sculptures, which consists of several sculptures that are a variation on the theme of Mother Nature, speaks of this.
The image of a fragile but strong bronze lady is collective and impersonal. This is evidenced by both the attire of the sculptures, which hide the figure, and the characteristic posture of the woman, which does not allow the viewer to see her face. And it is not these moments that are important here for the correct perception of the project. The fluttering floors of the cloak, the hair falling in waves - all of this the author was able to depict the dynamics, the movement of a static object, to convince all of us that the sculpture really rotates, although it does not perform a single physical movement.
It is known that sculptures from the Force of Nature series decorate squares, parks, streets and alleys of cities around the world, from England and the United States to Europe and Asia. Some of them are also located in contemporary art museums, participate in exhibitions and presentations. More information about the project is on the Lorenzo Quinn website.
