American painter and sculptor David Canavese - one of those famous fans Star Wars, who not only loves to revisit the stellar saga, but himself seeks to touch the beautiful. So, he creates miniature paper sculptureswhich depict some of the elements that make up the Star Wars universe. Moreover, these figures are not just miniature: they are tiny, and every time they become smaller and smaller. Art projects dedicated to Star Wars are created by many artists. Some of them are made of paper, some differ in tiny dimensions, others boast of meticulous detailing … And if you combine all these attributes into one whole, you just get the work of David Canavese. Tellingly, he does not create from paper the beloved and well-recognized Star Wars characters, but technical objects: weapons, aircraft and ground vehicles that appeared in the fantastic saga.
When David Canavese first started working on an art project for Star Wars, his models were already quite detailed, but they did not differ in size from any other paper sculptures. And as the artist improved and developed his skills, technique and craftsmanship, his pieces became less and less … Until the smallest figure could fit on the little finger, while retaining the delicate technical details. However, this is not yet the limit of the talented sculptor's capabilities: armed with a powerful magnifying glass, he continues to work on his models, many of which are not yet finished, trying to reduce them as much as possible.
You can see unusual paper sculptures, which are no larger than a soda bottle cap, on the David Canavese website.
