On November 14, the famous theater and film actor, director, teacher, People's Artist of the USSR Armen Dzhigarkhanyan passed away. In order to list all his roles and awards received for them, one article would not be enough. In many ways, Dzhigarkhanyan was an extraordinary person, and for one of his achievements he got into the Guinness Book of Records. True, on the same occasion, colleagues accused him of promiscuity …
Armen Dzhigarkhanyan was born in 1935 in Yerevan into a family of people from an ancient Tiflis Armenian family. His surname comes from two Turkic words: "jigar" - soul and "khan" - ruler, that is, "ruler of souls". But he himself interprets his surname differently: "sincere person." He did not know his father - he left his family when his son was only a month old. Armen was raised by his mother and stepfather. Later, the actor said that he inherited from his mother fortitude, a sense of humor, which saved him in the most difficult situations, and love for the theater. Since childhood, he went with her to performances and was determined to become an actor. After school, he tried to enter GITIS, but was not accepted due to a strong accent.
This first failure did not stop him. Returning to Yerevan, Dzhigarkhanyan got a job as an assistant cameraman at a film studio, and a year later he entered the Yerevan Theater Institute. Even in his first year, he began performing on the stage of the Yerevan Russian Drama Theater, to which he gave 12 years of his life. In the late 1960s. the famous director Anatoly Efros invited him to the troupe of the Lenkom Theater in Moscow, after 2 years the actor moved to the Mayakovsky Theater, where he worked until the mid-1990s.
His film debut took place in 1959. And if his first works did not bring him great popularity, then a decade later he was already one of the most demanded artists. Since then, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan has starred in several projects every year, many of which have become classics of Soviet cinema: "Hello, I'm your aunt!" Only in the 1980s. Dzhigarkhanyan starred in 50 films. And when more than 250 works were collected in his filmography, he got into the Guinness Book of Records as the most filmed Russian actor. However, he did not stop there - Dzhigarkhanyan continued to appear on the set in his eighth decade, and at the moment there are more than 300 roles in his creative piggy bank!
His colleagues treated his creative success differently. Someone admired his performance, someone made fun of her, and many even accused him of illegibility - they say, agrees to play everything, indiscriminately. But the directors unanimously praised the actor for the breadth of his acting range - it seemed that he was subject to any role. The epigram of Valentin Gaft became winged: "". Mark Zakharov joked: "Ch" The actor himself reacts to such jokes also with humor: "" And he adds that it would be appropriate to answer the questions about the number of roles played with the words of the great chess player Tigran Petrosyan: "".
The actor himself is critical of his work - so, he does not consider the hit "The meeting place cannot be changed" as his creative pinnacle: "".
But about filming in the film "Hello, I'm your aunt!" he, on the contrary, always remembered with special warmth: "".
Unfortunately, recently the famous actor spends a lot of time in hospitals - the recent scandalous divorce from his young wife and frequent nervous breakdowns due to her speculation on this topic on various talk shows undermined Dzhigarkhanyan's health. Nevertheless, he did not leave the profession and continues to act in films.
Despite the huge number of roles played, he still remains a mystery to the audience. He has his own secret: "". Armen Dzhigarkhanyan has always treated his work as hard and responsible work and did not hide the fact that it takes a lot of energy and health: "". In this sense, the actor can be called a father with many children, who has a reason to be proud of his children.
Dzhigarkhanyan is known not only for his roles in films, but also for dubbing cartoons. He gave his voice to many characters, and some - and external features: How the cartoon "Once upon a time there was a dog" appeared.
