20 years ago, the name of this singer was known to everyone - Marina Khlebnikova was called one of the brightest pop stars of the 1990s, and her hits and videos were symbols of that era. However, at the beginning of the new century, she disappeared from the screens and completed her touring activities. What made the singer leave the stage, what did she do after that, what personal dramas and hardships she had to endure - further in the review.
Marina Khlebnikova was born in 1965 in Dolgoprudny, Moscow Region. Her parents had nothing to do with the art world, but were very musical - her mother played the piano, and her father played the guitar. Marina could build a sports career - she was a candidate for master of sports in swimming, was a member of the Moscow national team, in 1987 she won city competitions. But her passion for music prevailed - she graduated from a music school and organized the "Marinade" ensemble, with which she performed well-known foreign and domestic hits.
After leaving school, Khlebnikova decided to continue her musical education and entered the faculty of pop singing "Gnesinka". While still a student, she met Bari Alibasov, who invited her as a soloist to the Integral group, and then to Na-na. Her touring activity began as part of these groups, with which she traveled all over the Union.
In the early 1990s. Marina Khlebnikova won prizes in several music competitions and began her solo career. Her hits "Cocoa-cocoa", "I would not say", "Rains", "Cup of coffee", "Accidental love" then sounded "from every iron." In 2002, the singer received the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
Khlebnikova owed much of her successful solo career to her husbands. For the first time, she married musician Anton Loginov. For the sake of Marina, he left his previous family and completely devoted his life to the singer and her work. Together with Loginov, they lived for 10 years, and when Khlebnikova began her solo career, this was largely due to her husband, who became her concert director.
For the second time, Marina Khlebnikova married Mikhail Maydanich, General Director of the Gramophone Records recording company. In 1999, the couple had a daughter, but the singer's family happiness did not last long. According to her, her husband was jealous of her success, often had quarrels that ended in assault. At the same time, Marina was responsible for the material well-being of the family. She was forced to return to the stage a month after the birth of her daughter, but soon disappeared from the screens for a long time.
After the singer's mysterious disappearance, there were rumors that she was seriously ill, and that Khlebnikova was suffering from alcohol addiction. For a long time these rumors were not refuted or confirmed. Only recently is the star of the 1990s. decided to give several interviews, in which she finally revealed the secret of her forced departure from the stage.
Only years later, the singer was able to frankly talk about the troubles and troubles that befell her in the early 2000s. In 2017, Khlebnikova admitted that her ex-husband dragged their family into debt - he borrowed large sums from banks and from influential persons, including Joseph Prigogine, and then could not pay off creditors. It turned out that Maidanich simply used the name of his wife as a cover for his machinations, which she did not even suspect at that time. Because of this, their marriage broke up, and the singer was forced to stop her solo career. In addition, at the beginning of the XXI century, new performers came, and Marina Khlebnikova lost her former popularity.
Today, 53-year-old Marina Khlebnikova rarely goes out, does not perform on stage and occasionally sings at corporate parties. In recent years, she has lived with her first husband, Anton Loginov. She did not intend to marry him again, but after he suffered a stroke in 2017, she took care of his recovery. In the fall of 2018, a tragedy struck: the singer found her ex-husband hanged in her apartment. Loginov left a suicide note in which he asked not to blame anyone for what had happened and said that Marina was the only love in his life. He often complained about his health and, obviously, his decision was dictated by this. After the funeral, Khlebnikova was hospitalized with a nervous breakdown.
For a long time she could not come to her senses after this tragedy, but at the beginning of 2019 she announced that she wanted to return to the stage again, although she was not yet quite ready for this: “”.
