In St. Petersburg, in the 19th century, Gromov's dacha was erected in the Lopukhinsky Garden. After restoration, it was decided to transfer this building to the use of a children's theater studio. On January 3, Alexander Beglov, the interim governor of St. Petersburg, told about this during a tour of the territories of the Petrogradsky district.

Gromov's dacha is a wooden structure, which is considered one of the oldest in St. Petersburg. Over the past few years, restoration work has been carried out on this summer house. Responsible for such work is the Committee for State Control of Historical and Cultural Monuments, as well as their use and protection.

Beglov noted that restoration work is a complex process, during which the craftsmen restore the structure and at the same time try not to change its appearance. For this reason, they have been ongoing for several years and will not be completed in the near future. He noted that he considers it a very important step that a children's theater studio will be located in the restored Gromov's dacha. The local children's theater studio will work under the patronage of Andrei Moguchev, a famous director who is the artistic director of the Bolshoi Drama Theater.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the dacha of V. F. Gromov, a Russian merchant and patron of the arts, was built in the Petrograd side. At the end of the 19th century, the building of the dacha was rebuilt. Wood is the main building material. The cottage building is a prime example of early eclecticism, in which some of the classic elements can be seen. At the moment, the building is included in the list of cultural heritage sites of regional significance.

During the Soviet Union, Gromov's dacha was the House of Pioneers, a holiday home for drivers, a club, a TV studio, and a boat station. The building was no longer used in 2009. The long standing idle time of the building has led to a significant deterioration in its condition. The interior decoration of the cottage and the facades were especially affected.

The restoration work of the cultural heritage site began in 2016. Significant works, during which the floors, walls and facades were restored, were carried out in 2017. Over the past 2018, the craftsmen have restored the outdoor decor, south and west facades. During the new 2019 year, the craftsmen plan to carry out restoration work on doors, porches, windows, the northern facade, painting the roof, and external waterproofing. Presumably, the restoration of Gromov's wooden dacha should be completed within the next two years.
