Some dogs were lucky to be born with such "smiles" that when looking at their cheerful muzzles it is impossible to remain indifferent - their smile is simply disarming, and this applies even to the most brutal breeds. It is precisely this structure of the muzzle that the staffordshire terrier mestizo Sibyl was lucky enough to have. A stray dog ended up in an ordinary London pet shelter, and its fate could have ended very sadly, if not for a cheerful smile.

In modern society, there is a stereotype associated with amstafs: they say, this is a fighting, very aggressive breed. And even the claims of the owners of Staffordshires that their dogs are not at all dangerous and not malicious are not always able to dissuade anxious citizens. I must say that there are stereotypes about other breeds, but society treats amstafs with special prejudice.

However, the charming Sibyl is as if created to dispel this pattern: when looking at her, it is impossible to feel fear. It is true that smiling works wonders.

When at the end of February a young dog Sibyl (formerly named Lily) came to the shelter of the All Dogs Matter charity foundation, its employees at first decided that they might have very big difficulties with her placement in a family - from - for a "serious" appearance (albeit a half-breed, but still very much looks like an amstaf). However, their fears were in vain. The staff immediately noticed that the dog seemed to be smiling all the time - its face looked very funny and disposed to a return smile. Soon, the pet won the hearts of all employees. One of the specialists in catching stray dogs could not resist: he photographed the “smile” and posted the picture on Twitter.

As soon as the photo appeared on the Internet, enthusiastic Internet users immediately filled up the shelter's page with messages. Many people expressed great sympathy for the four-legged model, and some even stated that they would like to take her home.

Frankie Murphy turned out to be one of those who wanted to "adopt" the amstaf mestizo.

“We saw her lovely smile and couldn't resist,” the woman said. no one has taken it yet. And we were lucky! When my family and I came to meet her, we immediately fell in love with her.

Murphy recalls that when a volunteer brought Sibyl and she saw her future owners, she was very excited. Frankie and her family decided to spend a couple of days with the puppy to make sure that they really fit together: they visited Sibyl at the shelter and interacted with her for a long time.

- When we brought the dog home, she immediately sat down and after that did not stop smiling, - says the owner enthusiastically. - She's so good! He constantly walks after my father, like a little shadow, and does not bark at all. All these days my neighbors did not even know that we had a new dog, because she is so quiet …

But smiling and silent, as it turned out, are not the only good qualities of the Sibyl. The owner notices that the pet is also very smart.

“She managed to open our back door. She is not tall enough to reach the handle, but she learned to nudge it with her nose,”says Frankie.

It's only been a few days since the dog arrived at All Dogs Matter, and he already has a home, and the shelter staff call it a miracle.

All Dogs Matter deputy manager Laura Hedges notes:

“Unfortunately, most of the dogs that come to us do not even get half the attention that Sibyl received. And this example clearly demonstrates how an ordinary photograph can say a thousand words. We have many equally wonderful dogs, and all of them are waiting for their owners.

But in the case of the Sibyl, the saying worked: “Don't be born beautiful, but be born happy. Or just smile!"
