The mutilated and raped dog was saved from death, but the law protects the maniac from punishment

The mutilated and raped shepherd dog, whose legs were cut off, the teeth were knocked out, the tail was broken, and the spine was completely broken, was left to die on the streets of Bucharest. Just a few days earlier, three puppies were found in the same place, who were also brutally tortured and killed. One of them was cut in half, the scalp was removed from the other, and the third puppy was gutted. A team of animal advocates, together with a local TV journalist, decided to find the culprit for these horrific crimes.

Journalist Anneka Svenska says that the dogs found looked so awful that it was difficult to look at. "Seeing this shepherd in this state was a real shock. I just couldn't believe that anyone could do this, especially the fact that the dog was raped." Anneka said that she simply could not stop crying, looking at the shepherd. The maniac, who was nicknamed the Bucharest Butcher, raped a shepherd dog with a sharp knife and left the poor man to die in the snow. The animal was found by a local woman the next morning. At first, the woman thought that someone wanted to scare her so much, because she regularly fed stray dogs from the area, and therefore turned to the police.

The police turned out to be powerless in this situation - such crimes are not included in their jurisdiction, and therefore local activists decided to find the psychopath. "It is very important to find the culprit, he is clearly out of his mind. People who do this are dangerous," says Anneka. Meanwhile, the shepherd dog, named Spirit, was taken to a veterinary clinic, where she underwent several operations. As soon as she gets stronger, she will go to loving people who have already expressed a desire to take the poor thing. "She is a very sweet dog, and even after everything that happened to her, she still trusts people."

Anneka spoke to the woman who found the dog, and she told about the puppies killed a few days earlier. "The woman was shaking when she talked about it, her tears were pouring down her face." Together with activists from the animal welfare center, Anneka went to look for the culprit. "The veterinarian said that they are seeing things like this all the time in the clinic, this is far from an isolated case. Horribly mutilated animals come to them, and the doctors cannot do anything about this situation."

There are about 60,000 wild dogs in Bucharest. “These animals have been breeding on their own since the 1970s,” says Anneka. One of the dogs that the journalist took from the shelter turned out to be a mixture of at least eight different breeds. Today in Romania it is allowed to kill stray animals - after a case of a dog attacking a 4-year-old boy. Later it turned out that the attacking dog was not homeless, but the law on permission to kill stray dogs was still passed. And therefore the police cannot influence the situation with the Bucharest Butcher in any way.

While Anneka was looking for a maniac, she found a black dog freezing in the snow next to the roadway. When the woman approached the animal, it turned out that there were also puppies next to the dog. Anneka and the women who were with her picked up the animals. The closest building to this place was a barn that belonged to an old man. When the women went inside, to their horror, they saw a whole row of dog skulls.

Considering that the police are powerless in this situation, now it's up to the activists - the problem with stray dogs should be solved, but definitely not in such a cruel way. The Bucharest Butcher is still at large, although his name is known. How to proceed is a moot point.

On the other side of the world, in South Korea, there is also an acute dog problem - there are still dog markets in this country, where animals are killed simply because they believe that their meat brings good luck.
