The fire-breathing dragon occupies a special place in Vietnamese culture: traditionally the inhabitants of this country consider him their "progenitor", and the very outlines of the territory of Vietnam resemble a giant dragon with a bent neck. It is natural that they strive to immortalize the fire-breathing giant in architectural landmarks. For example, in Da Nang recently built unique bridge Dragon Bridge.
The opening of the bridge was timed to coincide with the 38th anniversary of the liberation of the city. The structure has impressive dimensions: 666 meters long and 37.5 meters wide and over 1000 tons of weight. These characteristics make the Dragon Bridge one of the largest bridges in the world. It provides for six-lane traffic, as well as a pedestrian sidewalk.
Those who wish to enjoy an unforgettable spectacle should look at the bridge at night. Equipped with 15,000 Philips LED lights, a state-of-the-art lighting system allows the bridge's illumination to change continuously, creating scenic reflections in the Hangang River. And, of course, the real highlight of Dragon Bridge is the fire-breathing dragon. It "wraps around" the bridge, and real flame and splashes of water burst out of the gaping mouth.
The bridge connects Da Nang Airport to the beaches on the east side of the city. The construction of this architectural miracle began in July 2009, the project cost the Vietnamese $ 85 million. With the appearance of another handsome bridge, Da Nang confirmed its title of the "city of bridges", although, of course, it is unlikely to compare with German Hamburg or our St. Petersburg.

The Dragon: 40,000 buttons golden dragon. Kinetic sculptures by Robin Protz
Life is space and movement, and installation is probably the only genre of contemporary art that can be called "living", based on these two components. Although, kinetic sculptures can also be called "alive", which occupy the border niche between installation and sculpture, hovering in the air both literally and figuratively. American artist Robin Protz is one of those who prefer to develop this particular direction of modern
