In the modern world, fashion is changing so rapidly that few people really manage to keep up with it. A girl from Ukraine, the heroine of our today's publication, deciding to break all the rules of the marathon for fashionable novelties, made a knight's move: instead of running in step with the times, she decided to turn 180 degrees and return to the times of a bygone era. And, frankly, the game was worth the candle. For the result was unpredictably overwhelming and contagious.
The beautiful lady in the photo is Mila Povoroznyuk (nee Sheremet) from Vinnitsa. Thanks to her unusual choice of style in clothes, she became a famous blogger on Instagram. She has almost 93 thousand subscribers, who are not only her sincere admirers, but some of them are also buyers of her Instagram store.
The young girl practically abandoned modern casual clothes and began to dress like the young ladies of the 19th century. She has no jeans or T-shirts. Sneakers forgotten a long time ago … Her wardrobe is full of exquisite vintage dresses, corsets, skirts and cute hats, corresponding to the period of the century before last. They, "vintage lady" - Mila Povoroznyuk basically makes them herself, looking for suitable materials and accessories at flea markets and second-hand stores.
Probably, it is not worth talking about how the reincarnated image of a girl amazes the townspeople when they see a young lady walking along the streets of the city in long dresses of an unusual cut with antique accessories. Although Mila herself, due to the increased attention to her, does not complex. He says that this style is not at all pretentious, but.
It should be noted that Mila's craving for antiques was manifested since childhood:
She is a Ukrainian scholar by profession. More than a dozen years ago, as a student, she specialized in the study of Ukrainian women's dress. During her studies, she ended up in the historical reconstruction club, whose members were fond of medieval knightly battles. It was there that Mila learned how to sew costumes for various festivals and military reenactments, using all kinds of old books, prints and paintings as visualization.
This practice allowed the girl not only to thoroughly get acquainted with the history of fashion, but also to learn how to create all kinds of costumes most skillfully. A little later, putting on historical dances, organizing balls and vintage picnics, she also came in handy with sewing, which in recent years has grown from a hobby into a serious occupation.
But when there were enough of such extraordinary clothes in Mila's wardrobe, she began to combine it with the usual modern things, which surprised others a lot. But soon retro style began to dominate at all, until it completely replaced T-shirts, jeans, and baseball caps from the wardrobe.
Although, in truth, when you need to run out of the house very quickly, several things “from a past life,” as the girl herself admits, can still be found in her closet. Since it takes a lot of time to dress in retro clothes: there are sometimes up to several dozen buttons on shirts alone. And this, not to mention underwear - pantaloons, shirt, gloves and stockings.
It is very important for our heroine that the image she has chosen is complete and perfect, therefore we have to take care of the appropriate hairstyle and sophisticated makeup. However, over the past few years, she has been dressing almost exclusively in fake outfits, creating an appropriate image.
Moreover, following all the fashion rules of the century before last, the girl even wears a corset regularly. True, she confesses that she made it according to an individual sketch, so it is quite comfortable for daily wear. It is also worth noting that at present the vintage wardrobe of the Vinnitsa woman has more than 100 items belonging to different historical periods, but most of them belong to the fashion of the late 18th - early 19th centuries.
As mentioned above, Mila maintains her blog on Instagram, where she writes about the life of women in past centuries, as well as about herself and her hobbies. By the way, the "vintage lady" together with her friend created the public association "Vinnytsia Society of Vintage Lovers". The girls periodically organize vintage picnics in their city, as well as retro-style parties. And Mila also says that such movements are now very popular abroad, and especially in America.
In addition to her vintage hobby, Mila Povoroznyuk is an eco-activist who has long abandoned harmful polymers. At the moment, she has her own Instagram store of eco-goods, which in the future will have to replace plastic and polyethylene in everyday life. And in the longer term, she dreams of her own eco-house for her family in a cozy place within Vinnytsia.
P. S. And in conclusion, I would like to recall Mila's close person, her wife, with whom they lived for seven years. And on this occasion, she also has something to say:
Almost everyone has some kind of occupation called a capacious word - a hobby. Unlike Mila, the London girl Bella Kotak (Bella Kotak) is fond of photography. She creates images of women - intriguing, dreamy, gentle and charming, as if woven from a natural palette, like forest fairies from mysterious magical worlds. Read about it in our publication: Refined photographs of earth goddesses: Magical illusions through the lens of Bella Kotak.
