Japanese Shoji Morimoto has created his own success story by finding a unique niche in the market. It turned out that today you can sell yourself, informing customers in advance that you cannot do anything special and difficult. He offers the services of an interlocutor who does not give advice, as well as a companion for any undertakings not related to physical labor. For two years of such work, Shoji not only made a fortune, but also gained fame: he wrote several books and became the hero of a popular television series. The network is discussing his activities, wondering what the people who are ready to pay $ 100 an hour to “rent” a professional slacker are missing.
In June 2018, Shoji Morimoto posted the following post on his personal Twitter page:.
The delusional proposal has spread widely on the web and, oddly enough, has found a wide response. It turned out that there are a lot of people willing to use the services of a “professional slacker”. People turned to Shoji to dine together, go to a concert, fight club, or catch butterflies in the park. Women turned out to be a special category - they often needed a non-whimsical shopping companion or a "friend" who could provide insurance during the first appointment via the Internet.
Complaints about hard work, heart-to-heart talk, when a client is close to suicide, but cannot talk to loved ones, or a story about going to an "adult club" that is ashamed to remember … It turned out that people do not always need lively and heartfelt participation. It happens that sometimes it is easier to talk to just such a not too interested observer who will not impose advice on you. Shoji revealed that once he even had to hear a murderer's confession.
In general, Morimoto's work does not seem too difficult: he goes with his clients to restaurants (at their expense) or travels with them to events, listens and answers in monosyllables without expressing judgments, condemning or approving. He does not give advice or recommendations, does not take tangled stories to heart, but this is exactly what a modern person seems to need.
The clever Japanese has a lot of clients. Now the price of his services has risen to 10,000 yen (approximately $ 96), plus travel and food costs, but Morimoto usually has 3-4 orders a day. In just two years, he managed to fulfill about three thousand "requests" in this way, and it seems that his case is only gaining popularity - about 270 thousand subscribers on Twitter confirm this.
It is interesting that the 35-year-old "professional loafer" is married, his other half understands her husband perfectly, especially since his unusual business brings excellent income. You can, of course, say that Morimoto spends his life on trifles, because in fact he has a higher education and a degree in physics, but he himself does not think so: - Shoji explains his unusual occupation.
It seems that loneliness is becoming one of the worst problems today. Another Japanese simple phrase "Hello, how are you?" saved over 600 suicides.

Despite the fact that the Japanese authorities are fighting criminal groups today, the headquarters of the yakuza are often decorated with neon emblems, and their addresses can be found in directories.
