Why the famous producer failed to save the actor Yuri Kamorny: The eternal pain of Ada Staviska

Today Ada Staviskaya is a well-known producer, whose company has accounted for well-known and beloved films and TV series, including "Secrets of the Investigation", "Special Purpose Agent", "Cop Wars" and "State Protection". She graduated from the Faculty of Law of Leningrad State University and began working as an assistant director. Ada Staviskaya has been married to the famous actor Yuri Kamorny for 10 years and is still confident that she could have saved the artist on that tragic day when shots were fired in his apartment.

Unequal marriage

Ada Staviskaya was born and raised in a musical family, and the class of her great-grandfather Joseph Tomars still exists at the conservatory. Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Ivan Shalyapin visited the house of Ada's grandparents, they were familiar with Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko. But Ada herself did not like music, and all attempts to introduce her to the great art ended in failure.

She almost ruined an old piano, from which she tried to tear off the keys and even saw through the strings. But Ada Staviskaya was enthusiastically engaged in swimming and could have made a good career in sports if, by a tragic accident, she had not been hit by a trolley bus. In general, she was a rather purposeful and stubborn child, no force in the world could force her to do what she did not like.

Contrary to the wishes of her father, who wanted to see her daughter as an engineer, Ada Staviskaya entered the Faculty of Law of Leningrad State University, graduated from it and went to work at Lennauchfilm as an assistant director, then took up administrative work, became a director of films.

For the first time, Ada Staviskaya married, barely leaving school, to her classmate. True, they did not live together for long, but it was he who drew Ada's attention to the handsome actor. The spouses were visiting the girl's parents when they showed the performance of the Youth Theater about the Decembrists "A Sip of Freedom" on TV. Yuri Kamorny played Bestuzhev and impressed the first husband of the future producer very much.

The second husband of Ada Staviska was an artist-designer, thanks to whom Ada met Yuri Kamorny. In 1972, she came to her husband on an expedition to Ryazan, where a film was filmed. The husband worked there as an artist, and Yuri Kamorny was filmed.

Ada and Yuri Kamorny collided at the door, her husband introduced them to each other, and the young people who had barely met each other already understood that this was love at first sight. Hell always made decisions herself. But for her parents, her divorce from a prosperous and wealthy husband was a real shock.

She was a girl from a good family, and he was a simple guy who, before becoming an actor, tried many jobs, served as a mechanic on a ship and an electrician at a factory, was an installer and postman. Later, Ada's parents adopted a son-in-law, and Kamorny developed a complete understanding with his father. As Staviskaya herself said, they were like people of "the same blood group."

From love to tragedy

They met in August, and already in September they began to appear everywhere together. Yuri Kamorny broke with past relationships, Ada Staviskaya left her husband and at first lived with Yuri in his theatrical dressing room. After that, they moved out of town to the apartment of Yuri's classmate, and only then they were able to rent an apartment themselves.

Subsequently, Staviskaya recalled that Yuri Kamorny was an amazing person. His inner nobility and generosity could have been enough for ten, he always felt innate intelligence and aristocracy. He knew how to leave behind the threshold all professional problems and creative throwing, in relationships he was completely sincere, lived as he felt and never played in real life.

There was never any talk of children in marriage, they both realized that Yuri took too much of a place in Ada's life, he required special attention. Already at that time, the actor could not boast of good health, and he began to get involved in alcoholic drinks even in his youth. However, then everything was not so critical. They were young and happy together, they never advertised their marriage, although they did not set out to hide it. They just didn't want to draw undue attention to their family union.

Yuri Kamorny was a very noticeable person, some rumors constantly arose around his person, legends circulated about his novels, but Ada Staviskaya did not pay any attention to them. It seems that she recklessly trusted him. Until she personally read a very strange telegram that accidentally fell into her hands.

Then she told Yuri that she didn’t want to know anything about it. After a while, an understanding came to her: her husband had a serious affair and closing his eyes to him would mean not respecting himself. Ada initiated a serious conversation and simply informed him that she didn't care whether an official divorce was filed or not, but at the same time, everything that happened to her could no longer have anything to do with him.

Two years later, Ada Staviskaya put an end to their relationship and filed for divorce. At the same time, they continued to communicate, they were never enemies, even Kamorny kept his savings with her.

The actor's mental health problems began while they were married. He began to develop uncontrollable outbursts of anger, but Ada skillfully learned to extinguish them. She periodically arranged for her husband to go to the clinic, and after treatment he led a normal life.

Six months have passed since their divorce, when Yuri Kamorny's neighbors in the apartment on Saltykov-Shchedrin Street, frightened by terrible screams from the actor's room, tried first to find Ada Staviskaya, then Kamorny's friend, but could not get through to anyone. More than an hour passed before the tenants decided to call the police, and already they opened the door to the room. A terrible picture appeared before them: a famous actor was holding a knife at the throat of a girl lying on the couch. To save the girl, the police had to shoot. They did not aim to kill the actor, but a bullet hitting an artery in his thigh led to the instant death of Yuri Kamorny.

Ada Staviskaya herself was more than once in the situation in which the girl found herself. But she knew exactly what words needed to be said at that moment and how to behave. She was sure that the attack could have been avoided if he had undergone a full course of treatment before filming in Vilnius, where they were working on a new film about sailors. But he left the hospital three days later …

During such attacks, the actor developed a persecution mania and, most likely, decided to protect the girl. And then the police seemed to be his enemies. At the same time, he was ready to kill her himself, than give her to someone … Ada Staviskaya knew for sure: if the actor's neighbors managed to get through to her, that day the tragedy would have been avoided. But history, unfortunately, does not know the subjunctive mood.

In memory of the time when Ada Staviskaya was happy with Yuri Kamorny, she has only one photograph left and the most valuable thing is her profession. After all, her arrival in the cinema happened precisely with the filing of Kamorny. Despite everything, it is easy for her to remember the person she loved …

He was called one of the most beautiful actors in Soviet cinema of the 1970s. Yuri Kamorny played only 37 movie roles and lived only 37 years. His path was short, but very bright. He was the same as his characters in the movies - passionate, desperate and indomitable.
