It seems that the deadly hunt for the hidden treasures of the millionaire, which cost many lives, is over. The eccentric Forest Fenn's life was cut short in 91st year. He never discovered the location of his treasure. Long eleven years, several hundred thousand hunters for prey, five dead and a completely unexpected denouement of this wild story.
Art dealer and writer Forest Fenn passed away last week at the age of 90 at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He became famous for hiding a treasure in the Rocky Mountains in 2009 and declared a hunt for it, writing a riddle poem.
Twenty-four rhymed lines prompted more than 350 thousand people to go in search of treasures. It is not surprising, because the value of the hidden values varies in the range of two million US dollars!
The insidious Fenn left clues about the location of his cache in a poem that was included in his autobiography, The Excitement of the Chase. During the past decade, several people have died as a result of this risky quest. Some were arrested for various offenses, including excavating a roadside memorial. Many needed the help of rescuers after they climbed into difficult-to-pass dangerous places. Forest's home has even been broken into by particularly aggressive treasure hunters and threatened to reveal the secret of their whereabouts.
In June, Fenn claimed that someone had actually found his cache and taken the prize. In his blog, the millionaire said: “This is a guy from the east of the country, he just doesn't want his name to be mentioned anywhere. He found him "under the stars among the lush forest vegetation of the Rocky Mountains, and he did not move from where I hid him." However, the eccentric rich man never confirmed the exact location of the cache.
Forest Fenn later posted photographs of a certain treasure chest, which he said was found in Wyoming, but this did not convince many of those involved in the treasure hunt. Some people argue that the treasure has not yet been found, while others generally think that the treasure may never have actually existed.
There are many conspiracy theories about this, some even take the liberty of questioning Fenn's death. A lawyer from Chicago named Barbara Andersen even tried to sue the millionaire some time ago, spending thousands of dollars on unsuccessful attempts to find a cache of valuables. Now she thinks that the information is being hushed up and in general the whole thing "smells very bad."
Meanwhile, Florida masseuse Miriam de Fronzo also believes the treasure may still be in the cache. After spending four years traveling, she stated: “The problem is still extremely far from being solved. Ninety percent of treasure seekers do not believe this secret has been solved."
Many hope that after the death of Forest Fenn, some important hitherto unknown details will be revealed. In the meantime, none of the treasure hunters will be admitted to his memorial service. The Fenn family demanded "maximum privacy," and his wife Peggy reportedly told a friend that she was "incredibly tired of it all."
Be that as it may, whether the treasure was found or not, whether it existed or not, there were too many people involved in this matter. Fenn, in any case, gave many not treasures, but the meaning in this life. It's sad when the pursuit of "easy" money is the only meaning of your life. It happens.

Photos by John Fowler: only mountains can be better than mountains
Landscape shots by John Fowler are striking in their grandeur and color. The main motto of the photographer is short and laconic "light in nature", and all because John Fowler loves to catch the sun's rays through the lens, playing on spring greenery, mountain slopes, scallops of streams and waterfalls. The master's portfolio is so large that the finished pictures can be viewed for hours. We will save our readers' time and introduce them to photographs of mountainous terrain.
