Video: How a football fan raised money for beer, what came out of it and other stories that return faith in humanity

All of us in childhood believe that the world is beautiful and full of amazing, kind people. Unfortunately, life always makes adjustments to this point of view, and only a few think so by adulthood. However, without these units capable of believing that they can change the world for the better, humanity would probably have degenerated long ago. Previously, ballads and novels were written about them, now they are becoming heroes of social networks and news channels.
Football fan raised money for beer and unexpectedly became a philanthropist
This story happened quite recently, but has already spread all over the world. On September 14, a student football match was held in the US state of Iowa. One of the fans - 24-year-old student Carson King decided to combine business with pleasure and get some money. It is known that honesty is the best way to find a way to the souls of people, so the guy wrote a poster by hand with a marker: (this is a popular brand of beer) and indicated his details in the payment system. The match was broadcast live on a federal channel, and a childishly sincere beer lover managed to stand up so that his cardboard would constantly fall into the frame. As Carson later said, during the match he was surprised that messages were constantly poured onto the phone, but he did not attach much importance to this. However, after checking the account, he was amazed - in just an hour he managed to collect about $ 400 (it turns out, everything is simple!). Moreover, transfers from all over the country continued after the broadcast was completed. A day later, the amount exceeded 3 thousand, and the guy, after consulting with his parents, decided to spend this money on charity, donating it to the children's hospital, which is located next to the stadium - fans and athletes always wave to little patients who usually watch matches right from the windows.
Further, the story has already gone beyond the campus - the producers of his favorite beer learned about the smart guy. The story of this incident appeared on their official website, and the company decided to "hit the ball":
The payment system, which King at the same time advertised, also did not stand aside, promising to invest the same amount of money on his part as will be collected for this promotion. Now the news has become known all over the world, and funds have begun to flow from different countries. Carson reported on September 22 that the amount reached $ 333,000. Thus, if Busch Beer and Venmo repeat the amount, the children's hospital will receive a million dollars from donors. Fundraising will continue until the end of September, and how much money will be raised as a result is anyone's guess. However, Carson admits (still honestly) that he intends to take $ 15 out of the money he has collected so that he can buy himself a beer in the end.
The millionaire thanked fellow villagers
This story took place in China. 54-year-old businessman Xiong Shuihua decided to make a gift to his homeland and completely rebuilt the village in which he was born and raised. According to the millionaire, he has already earned as much money as he cannot spend, so he decided to radically improve the lives of those people who helped him at the beginning of his life. New cobbled streets and 72 beautiful cottages and 18 villas have replaced the old houses. Residents settled in them absolutely free. In addition, the village has been decorated with new green spaces, statues, a playground and an art center. Xiong took special care of food for low-income families by organizing free meals. The construction plans also included a pig farm, which will provide residents with jobs and income.
True, recently there have been reports that not everything is so smooth in an ideal new village - residents are quarreling over free housing, but this, of course, is a completely different story. The millionaire patron himself at the opening of a new village said: "I always pay debts and wanted to return them to those people who helped me and my family when I was younger."
Modest benefactor
The name of Albert Lexi, the humble shoe shiner, is well known throughout Pittsburgh. For 30 years, the man has visited UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and cleaned everyone’s shoes. Three dollars a couple is not a very high price, but Albert donated all this money to the Free Care Foundation, which helps both insured and uninsured children get the necessary medical care. When the permanent cleaner died in October 2018, it turned out that over 30 years of hard work, he donated more than 200 thousand dollars to sick children. This despite the fact that he himself lived on a very modest salary and in order to collect money, twice a week made a very long journey from a small town in the vicinity of Pittsburgh.
I would like to say that his persistent modest work was noticed by his relatives. Albert has been a real local celebrity for many years, he has received several awards and prizes, and in 1999 his hometown proclaimed "Albert Lexie Day". Although, perhaps, the most valuable gift for the benefactor was a gift from the district administration, which presented him with a life bus pass.
Dashrat Manji - the man who conquered the mountain
This story has already become the basis for several books and a film. A young man living in a poor village in the Indian state of Bihar became famous all over the world for having single-handedly cut a passage in the rock 110 meters long and almost 10 meters wide. Moreover, he used almost medieval instruments. The titanic work was not done in vain, the new road shortened the path to the nearest city and, accordingly, to all the benefits of civilization from 70 kilometers to one. Dashrat spent 22 years on this incredible work! The reason that prompted him to such an incredible business was the death of his beloved wife. The girl fell off a cliff, and the doctors simply did not have time to get to the distant village to save her. In India, Dashrat Manji became a folk hero.
Physician with nearly 70 years of experience
As a child, Alla Lyovushkina dreamed of becoming a geologist, but then she read Veresaev's "Notes of a Doctor" and caught fire with a new idea, decided to save human lives. In May 2019, Alla Ilyinichna turned 92 years old, and she is still faithful to her profession. She still conducts 100 operations a year, and in her entire life she has about 10 thousand of them! Alla Ilyinichna is receiving an appointment at the polyclinic and performing operations at the Ryazan City Clinical Hospital No. 11. With 68 years of experience, this unique woman is the oldest practicing surgeon in Russia. By the age of almost a hundred, Alla Ilyinichna came in excellent shape. She is a little worried that it is not as easy to walk and stand as before, so she spends many hours of operations sitting in a special chair, but the accuracy of her hands and clarity of thinking amazes both young people and experienced doctors. Despite her age, the long-liver doctor herself takes care of her disabled nephew and a dozen cats.
