Still-life paintings this Russian artist evokes an irresistible desire to reach out and take a glass of wine or a pouring apple. And if you don't even take it, then the drool will flow - that's for sure. Dmitry Annenkov creates stunning still-life paintings that are not only extremely believable, but also convey the invisible presence of a person, the course of life. That a static still life, it would seem, is beyond its power.

Dmitry Annenkov was born in 1965 in Moscow. He devoted his whole life to painting. To do this, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Art and Industry. S. G. Stroganov. Today Dmitry Annenkov is a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. His works are exhibited not only in Russia, but also in the USA, France and Norway.

The artist works in different genres. But most of all he loves to paint still life paintings. Despite the fact that the paintings depict inanimate objects, we feel the presence of life in them. Dmitry Annenkov significantly expands the boundaries of still life: where another artist would paint a landscape, Annenkov creates a still life (for example, "Autumn"), but in such a way that his painting fully conveys the feeling of autumn. And even the artist paints his self-portrait in a still life - as a reflection on a silver teapot.

If we compare the American still lifes of Pamela Johnson and the work of Annenkov, then about the latter I just want to say: "It smells of Russia here!" It is not surprising that in most of the artist's still lifes we see alcoholic beverages - from wine to beer. But this is not the only manifestation of the "Russian spirit": it is also the breadth of Russian nature, combining love for Baudelaire, for example, and the simplicity of everyday life.

The still lifes of Dmitry Annenkov are not similar to the carefully painted paintings by David Ligar. Annenkov deliberately does not expose objects in an ideal composition, although he writes out his paintings no less carefully. On the contrary, the things in his still lifes look like they were thrown carelessly by a person who has only moved away for a moment. Therefore, in Dmitry Annenkov's still lifes there is so much life and movement that never stopped.
