The filmmaking industry is moving forward, and it has hardly been prevented by the coronavirus pandemic, which has changed the lives of people around the world. Filmmakers continue to work on new projects, and viewers can only wait for exciting new items to appear on the screens. In our today's review - series that can captivate viewers in the fall of 2020. Only time will tell how successful these projects will be.

"Psycho", directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk

The new series by Fyodor Bondarchuk, based on a script by Paulina Andreeva, is awaiting the audience with great impatience. The story of a highly demanded metropolitan psychotherapist who skillfully creates the appearance of a successful life is announced as a dramedy. The whole plot is built around a lonely psychotherapist whose wife disappeared almost a year ago.

Perhaps this was the reason for Oleg's hobby for alcohol. The Doll becomes his only desirable interlocutor, and the clients of the successful “healer of souls” do not even know what demons reign in the soul of the person to whom they come for help.

Konstantin Bogomolov plays a psychotherapist tired of work and his own problems, Igor Vernik and Elena Lyadova, Oleg Menshikov and Marina Alexandrova, Anna Chipovskaya, Lyudmila Knyazeva and other popular actors also starred in the series.

"Russian Prisoner", director Ivan Shurkhovetsky

Perhaps this beautiful and captivating fairy tale will become an alternative to the successful and popular historical series The Magnificent Century, which won the hearts of the audience. In the new project by Ivan Shurkhovetsky, events unfold on the border of two centuries, the 16th and 17th centuries. The main character of the series is the Cossack Alekh, who has to make a pilgrimage to worship the Virgin Mary, fulfilling the last will of his father.

By the will of fate, he finds himself in Ottoman captivity. On the way to home, he will have to go through many trials, fulfill the will of his father and find his own happiness, the road to which will be very thorny. The Cossack Alekha was played by Ilya Malakov, his father was played by Alexei Kravchenko, and the girl who ended up in the harem against her own will was played by Arina Zharkova.

"Wannabe", directed by Sergei Komarov

The new series, which is being filmed at Star Media Studios, promises an engaging storyline and unrelenting tension until the very last shot. The heroes will have to investigate the murders committed by an unknown criminal. He knows the smallest details of the crime, which was committed more than 20 years ago, when the heroine of Evgenia Kryukova took revenge on those who were involved in the death of her parents.

The investigation will have to take a desperate step and involve the main character herself in the investigation, because only she is able to understand the Copycat. The situation is aggravated by the fact that the head of the investigation and the woman who committed eight murders 20 years ago have a common daughter who does not know who her mother really is.

"Terrible", director Alexei Andrianov

The new historical series, which is being filmed at the Moschino studio, is already striking in its scale. Even before the shooting began, a huge preparatory work had been done, and the artists and costume designers specially for "Grozny" created many sets and costumes that almost completely correspond to those things that were used during the reign of Ivan the Terrible.

Sergei Makovetsky and Alexander Yatsenko embody the image of Ivan Vasilyevich, one is mature, the other is young. Many actors were involved in the filming, including Konstantin Kryukov and Viktor Dobronravov, Vladimir Steklov and Lyudmila Polyakova, Leonid Kulagin, Viktor Sukhorukov and Evgeny Tsyganov.

Awakening, directed by Edward Parry

In the Russian remake of the American TV series of the same name, detective Michael Britten will be replaced by police officer Pavel Frolov, played by Yevgeny Mironov. In 2012, the original of "Awakening" had a record number of viewers on NBC since its very first episodes - 6.24 million.

The protagonist of the Russian television series, like his American counterpart, will live in two parallel realities, the past and the present. He has to try to save the lives of his wife and son, who died in a car accident. In a parallel reality, they are alive, but it will be very difficult for Pavel Frolov to turn back the clock.

"The Pythagorean Theorem", director Alexander Baranov

The heroes of Maria Kulikova and Yegor Beroev, Nina Usatova, Alexander Vlasov and other actors will have to prove the Pythagorean theorem again and again. True, life triangles do not obey metamathematical laws, and love can turn out to be not only saving, but also destructive. At the same time, a detective component is added to the trivial plot with a deceived wife, a traitorous husband and an insidious mistress. And the main character will have to look for the child of an insidious seducer and try to rebuild a relationship with a man who once betrayed not only her, but her daughter as well.

"Doctor Preobrazhensky", directors Sergei Taramaev and Lyubov Lvova

The historical series tells about the birth of the Institute of Plastic Surgery in the Soviet Union in the 1960s, as well as about the confrontation between the young and talented doctor Igor Zorin, who was planning to move abroad, and his boss Lev Preobrazhensky, who was forced to cooperate with representatives of the State Security Committee for the sake of his dream of creating a plastic surgery clinic. At the same time, both doctors are real professionals, they just have different goals: Zorin believes that the work of a plastic surgeon should be highly paid, and it is important for Preobrazhensky, first of all, to help his sister, who, after a serious injury suffered in childhood, left on her face ugly scars.

It is difficult to imagine that the television series, which have now become cult or at least extremely popular, were once at the stage of creating a pilot episode - the very one that was supposed to decide the future fate of the project. Surprisingly, but sometimes the original version turned out to be a real failure, and the writers had to move mountains to turn the rejected material into a masterpiece.
