The tradition of erecting monuments to movie heroes arose not so long ago, but a lot of them appeared on the streets of large cities and small villages. As a rule, these are human-sized sculptures installed directly on the asphalt or on small pedestals. There are even signs associated with these monuments: if you rub a certain part of the body or hold a bronze statue by the hand, it will certainly bring good luck in business.

Coward, Goonies and Experienced

Monuments to Coward, Goonies and Experienced can be found in several cities. For example, in Irkutsk, a whole sculptural composition was created, in which director Leonid Gaidai sits on an armchair and clearly gives instructions to the actors.

Shurik and Lida

Monuments to Shurik and Lida from the film "Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures" are located in several cities of Russia.

One of them is located in Krasnodar, opposite the building of the Kuban State Technological University. The bronze sculpture looks very realistic, and the students of this educational institution have their own omen: to successfully pass the exam, you need to attach your notes to the notes in Lida's hands.

A very similar sculpture is also installed near the Moscow Economic Institute on Artyukhina Street. Only, unlike their Krasnodar twins, Moscow Shurik and Lida do not walk, but stand.

In the city of Sochi, on Voikova Street, there is a sculptural composition dedicated to the heroes of Gaidai's film "The Diamond Hand". True, the shooting was carried out at the very pier of the Marine Station, and the monument was located 50 meters from it.

In the shade of the trees, you can see the unforgettable Semyon Gorbunkov with his wife and children accompanying him, and a little further away - Lelik and Gesha Kozodoev. The monument completely recreates the appearance of the heroes of the film, they are quite recognizable, since the authors of the composition, when working on the sculptures, were guided not only by still images from the film, but also by portraits of the actors filmed in the Diamond Hand. By the way, the noses of the sculptures are polished by tourists, they believe that by rubbing this part of the heroes' faces, you can attract good luck.

In the city of Novorossiysk, Gesha Kozodoev comes out of the sea at all, holding a stick with Lelik's fluttering panties in his hands. The bronze statue recreates a scene from the film where Gesha watches a boy walking past him on the water.

Gentlemen of Fortune

In 2001, at the entrance to Mosfilm, a monument was erected to the actor Yevgeny Leonov in the guise of an Associate Professor from the film Gentlemen of Fortune. However, in 2015 this sculpture suffered a sad fate: the thieves simply handed over the monument for scrap, having previously cut it.

However, a year later, an updated monument to the Associate Professor appeared at the same place, which was solemnly opened in September 2016. Since the installation of the first monument, a legend began to circulate that if you rub the fingers of the Associate Professor, making a "goat", it will bring good luck in money matters and protect you from criminals.

In Yerevan, near the cafe "Gentlemen of Fortune", a composition was installed that immortalized all four heroes of the famous film.

Another monument stands in the small town of Taraz in Kazakhstan. In Soviet times, it was called Dzhambul, which Ali Babayevich recalled so often. True, this sculpture is missing one of the gentlemen, Khmyr.
