In the yearning-nostalgia for summer, few, alas, are able to notice the quiet, charismatic beauty of the autumn months. They come to their senses only when the trees stand half-naked, trembling and frowning under the cold rains and piercing winds of the last weeks of November. And, of course, they begin to sigh and complain about how disgusting, disgusting and chilly autumn is today. But real autumn is different. Bright, warm, colorful! Quite like in the unusual paintings of the Belarusian artist Leonid Afremov, with which we will introduce you today.
Leonid Afremov paints his paintings full of positive, passion and fire without using a brush. Instead, he uses a special spatula knife called a palette knife. With its help, the author applies strokes on the canvas, which subsequently add up to stunning landscapes.
Despite the simplicity of the subjects - nature, rain, evening, romance in the park, flowers, the sea, neat houses - Leonid Afremov is considered one of the outstanding contemporary artists. By the way, at one time he graduated from the famous art school in Vitebsk, in the homeland of Marc Chagall, where the unforgettable Malevich and Kandinsky studied.
Leonid Afremov loves to travel. According to him, this charges him with positive and enthusiasm, which he then invests in his new works. Today the artist lives in the USA, in a small town in the state of Florida, and all his paintings can be viewed in an extensive gallery of his personal siteAnd here is the process of drawing pictures using a palette knife and oil paints:
