To create beauty, an American artist Dana Tanamachi you don't need much: just the packaging of the most ordinary school chalk. With this simple tool, she displays words, letters, symbols and intricate ornaments, and her famous posters and signs in retro style, the same age as cowboys, saloons and the Wild West, are born. This hobby, drawing with chalk, the girl has preserved since her school days. Like all children, she loved to draw pictures and letters on the asphalt, at school the blackboard became the "canvas" for her arts during the big break, and as an adult, Dana Tanamachi went to North Texas to study graphic design. The first serious works of the young artist were posters for Broadway shows, and today such clients as Adidas, Google, Collins and other eminent enterprises are lining up to her.
The delicate, graceful graphic works of the artist are made with such skill and sense of style that few dare to believe at their word that they are really drawn in chalk. The most common white chalk used by schoolchildren to solve problems and examples on the blackboard. On the one hand, it is so simple that it is even banal, but on the other hand, it is brilliant, talented, and creative. It is not for nothing that advertising posters and posters imitating the signs of cowboy saloons in the Wild West adorn the windows of brand stores on the main streets of metropolitan areas, famous brands use them for their advertising campaigns and promo videos, and fashionable glossy magazines publish them on covers and color spreads. Sometimes Dana Tanamachi is invited to decorate the interiors of restaurants, bars or nightclubs for entertainment, and often such decoration turns from temporary to permanent. The halls of such establishments look very original, painted with unique typography in a retro style.
By the way, the process of creating posters and signs in a retro style is a very interesting sight in itself. All of this can be seen on Dana Tanamachi's website.
