Pavel PIXELMAN Nikiforov is a sculptor and graphic artist who lives and works in St. Petersburg. He is widely known to the public for his creative sculptural installations. "NOTEBOOK" is a spatial interactive object from the series "PLAYING WITH HEADS". It is intended for fixing and preserving human thoughts by the method of graphic, artificially created, written means of communication.
Provandality means applying on its surface the results of homo sapiens' thought activity in the form of inscriptions, diagrams, signs and drawings using any writing instruments (markers, rollers, pencils, crayons, brushes, aerosols, lipstick, nails, keys, bricks, etc.) throughout the entire period of its existence; in other words, the viewer must take an active part in its creation.
The task of the "NOTEBOOK" is to erase the boundaries of the separation of two worlds - immanent and transcendental. This erasure actually occurs in the "act of activity."
The idea is reified, the thing is rationalized. A closed system of circulation of ideas appears, the bio-limitation of physical and spiritual nature is overcome. There is a transformation of a soulless art object into a kind of information field converter, in relation to people performing the functions of an intermediary between the Physical and Subtle planes. The goal is to create submirror layers, coagulated with the help of the energy of thought and emotion into a phantom form of greater or lesser density.
"NOTEBOOK" transforms knowledge from information structures into thought forms and broadcasts information to those who are most open to perception - these are scientists, inventors, musicians, poets, and artists. Organizing creative energies contributes to their conduction in the forms of science, art and literature. Thus, the interaction of an art object and a person raises the "NOTEBOOK" to the rank of a symbol of the earthly mind, the essence of universal wisdom …
“For me, this is also an actual social experiment,” the artist explains, “it is interesting to know what contemporaries think and dream about. The result was quite predictable. The number of obscene inscriptions and images stunned … As soon as some nasty thing appeared on its pages, there were people who painted over and sketched this fragment with something positive, themselves, by their own impulse of the soul. Apparently, everything is not so bad with our society as it might seem at first sight."

Modern civilization is inconceivable without electricity. All spheres of human life in the 21st century are directly dependent on electricity. In just some 100 years, the planet Earth was covered with an artificial web of telegraph, telephone, fiber-optic and electrical cables. The atmosphere was filled with electromagnetic waves of radio frequencies, carrying terabytes of information
Matryoshka log: "pregnant" art object by Giuseppe Penone
Each unremarkable log has artistic potential: if not Pinocchio, then at least one more tree, but smaller in size, can turn out from it. Art objects by Giuseppe Penone are about opportunities hidden for the time being, about a new life that lurks even in a felled, dead trunk. And also - about the fragile "backbone" that holds a huge deck with thin branches. And, finally, these sculptures are about the subtle mental organization of any, even unattractive, log (we are talking
