Carmelo Blandino Is a talented Italian artist who is known for his "flower" canvases. The tenderness of the petals and the charm of the lines - the flowers on his early canvases look as if they were alive. However, his later works are distinguished by a dark color scheme. "Single Flower Series" - a series of paintings created with acrylics, palette knife and … left hand.
As for all creative people, for Carmelo Blandino painting is a sublimation, a tool for self-knowledge and self-improvement. The artist took his own works of ten years ago as the basis for a series of paintings and tried to recreate each of them. Each new painting is a step towards cultivating a new “I”, liberation from established norms and stereotypes. Palette knife instead of a brush and acrylic instead of oil paints. Carmelo Blandino completely changed his artistic method.
The artist admits that this experiment was not immediately given to him and he had to make a lot of efforts to get a worthwhile result. Carmelo Blandino applied stroke after stroke, at the same time erasing memories of the past from his memory and creating his new future. Of course, today we can talk about the "birth" of a new artist with his own style and artistic manner of writing.
By the way, the artist is no stranger to starting a lot from scratch: in his youth, after graduating from art school, Carmelo Blandino earned good money as a freelance illustrator, collaborating with famous architects, designers and advertising agencies. However, for the sake of art, he gave up a successful career and has been professionally painting for 12 years. His paintings have been exhibited in many countries around the world, he himself taught drawing at Dawson College in Montreal. Let's see how successful his innovation will be this time.
